I have been looking through the forums for a couple days to try to find answers to my questions but with no evail so I didn't look like a total noob.

I have a level 23 archer and looking for money to buy better equipment like forgotten bows or whatever would be good for my level and equipment and such. And since I seem to die a lot from not dealing good damage an such. What is a good place to start?

I also have a level 23 Mage and haveing same problems.

I have read post about farming low levels and such but those posts were from 2011 so I'm not sure if they are still valid or if there are more up to date threads about this.

Farming lower levels will do a few things:

(1) get you more comfortable with using your character;
(2) decrease the chances of you dying, thereby making your runs more profitable;
(3) get you a steady stream of gold farming from killing enemies and hopefully, killing bosses for good drops you can sell and make money off of.

Otherwise, find some good party members to tackle dungeons with, which will make farming bosses much more efficient.

Also, learn how to play your class better so you dont die as ofter. This usually means learning your different skills, their ranges, and limitations so you know where to stand, distances, and how to move around a combat zone. mages are more support characters so dont fret if you can solo everything well.

So basically ur saying that I should just stick with low levels like FH an such till I get used to things. But as far as weapons and amour and such what do you recomend?

Get some shivering gear at level 30. Use the gear you get from alien campaigns. Use the gear you get from balefort sewers. By now, you should be experienced enough :)! You can get a forgotten bow at any level.

As for skills, make sure you look up guides on correct skill point allotments; unless you can respec later. You're a bird, so you're naturally squishy. Don't be afraid of dying, but don't be too careless and rush in. Make sure you let bears tank and mages heal you.

Other than that, just go to the highest level campaign you're able to go to for best xp. Join a game with a lot of people :)!

Good luck!

Your a l23 bird so step 1.) Make sure your full dex. Step 2.) Just grind it out to l25 and buy a onyx bow set. At l 30 use shivering pinks till 35-49. If your too broke to afford any of the onyx then farm sand stone for the l23 pinks or merch a bit. Also if you didnt know you can have 25-25 pots and as you use them (and spread out the usage of em) they can regen back up to 25-25 to save on pots

Ok now i going to sound like a noob an all but. Where would alien campaigns be at? I know where the sewers are but don't you have to be upper levels to use them like 50+?

Just find a decent group to level with and hang back at 10m distance from enemies so you don't get hit and die as much

And for gear, if you can wait until level 30, you could buy shivering set for cheap

The Alien Oasis campaigns are around levels 35-50

I believe you can start AO1 at around 33. Like Noodle said, don't rush into tougher dungeons until you really know your character. I would check out Physiologic's thread on birds, it's a really good basic guide on skills and important tactics.

Also, forgotten bows are good up until about levels 40-50, then you have better options. So think about that when you're about to invest in one. They are pretty pricey, so you might want to save your money for higher level gear later on.

The best advice I could give a new player is always think ahead. An item may be cool now, but think about what might happen in later levels. You could get stuck with that item.

If you want to farm now, you can farm Sand Caves. There are occasionally high levels there. Hopefully you can find a game where you won't get booted.

Good luck, we were all here at one point.
