Upgraded Mythics

Hello everybody
I need a clarity about those mythics that will be upgraded
I'm not a platinum user
I farmed gold and some locked now my friend also helped me so i bought a complete mythic set rogue(helm+armor)
In the announcements its told that they will be upgraded in what way they will be upgraded??
thats my question
if its making use of platinum Ill jus be pissed off
pls i need a complete clarity abt that
pls

there is a special quest that you need to do in order for them to be upgraded.

only those that have both helm and armor can access the quests
