View Full Version : How can we return PL to its former glory?

I'm in shock. I go away for a few months for Basic Training and PL has dropped of the map. Updates aren't even significant, loyal members = few to none, guilds are crumbling, and Devs are ignoring their players. Has PL really been abandoned? Is there any hope for a future in PL if the Devs never release another cap? I'm mainly posting this thread to see whether or not I should give up on PL myself. I was planning to come back full throttle but have been extremely disappointed in PL's development this year and the community as a whole. Whats left to do? Farming for gold that no longer matters? PVP to gain skills for tournaments that will never be hosted? Talk in Balefort with random strangers til there is no one left online? It's a sad day indeed, but I am willing to do my part to improve this game I have come to love if anyone has any ideas/solutions to this ongoing problem. Please, post them here. Thank you :D

PVP to gain skills? Not really. I'd prefer PVP to get spawned.

There was a thread created, where devs were communicating fully with us. Check it out.

I love how after Xghostzx's thread it sparked all these other threads talking about the PL community and how much (or less) STG cares about PL.

He/she has a monumental influence on PL. I'm glad everyone is finally seeing it. Great post by Xghostzx and it truly has made PL open it's eyes to the fact that it will be obsolete in a year at this rate of decline. The best way to bring back the old PL is to not work individually, but as one community. :)

I like how this comment is irrelevant.

One way to improve? Chill out, don't make sweeping generalizations saying dramatic things like "if the devs never release another cap". Check out that other thread.

Hey Avid,

Welcome back! I hope basic went well for you. Thanks for choosing to serve!

Suentous does have some good words of wisdom here too:

On the PL front, there is still a healthy group of people that log in and play every day. We also have a steady stream of new people that come into Pocket Legends every day. However, Arcane Legends has eclipsed PL in a pretty big way. On average, more people download AL on a given day than play PL. PL is a 3 year old game and it is understandable that more people want to play the latest. Hopefully you can understand why we put more effort into expanding AL, because that's where the majority of our fans are.

We are working on doing more for all of our games. We have some new items and vanities coming soon to Pocket Legends that should add some interest to end game farming. While we don't have an expansion on the horizon, we are working, as it makes sense, to have fun events happening in all of our games.

Thanks for playing and for your understanding.

Thank you for the comment on the thread. So there is not a new cap on the horizon, but there will be upcoming events and new items and vanities. I am so excited to see these added to the game. I recently capped too, so there's lots of fun coming up.

I can understand that you have made decisions to put STS in its current financial standing. I think a lot of people are just unaware of why it appears PL makes no money when they know they spend a lot, and it is because they don't realize you spend most of it designing new game after new game. Unfortunately this has benefits and cons. Instead of being the World of Warcraft of mobile MMO's you have chosen to become like Call of Duty relying on your next game rather than putting all efforts into your already successful one. I am not sure where financially this became less of a choice and more of just struggling to stay alive as a company. So now that you run 6+ games it seems there will never be hope for a single game that will last more than 2 years or so before becoming a digital wasteland. I feel once you released AL you reached the point of no return. You took your fan base from one game into another and killed your baby. I understand that as STS developed it had the ability to do so much more than PL could offer without platform changing updates, so a new game was your only option to really hold your place in the mobile gaming community. I guess I answered my own question though really the only way to bring PL back to its former glory is if there was enough money to dedicate a specific team to PL and PL alone. Which as long as PL remains the less popular game overall nothing we say or do will prevent our years of loyalty and funding from being quite frankly significant only towards great memories not future entertainment.

However, as negative as everything I said above sounds I believe as long as PL's servers are up and running the game is what we make it. Those of you who are influential members of the game really need to get together and take charge and bring the game back to life in the minimal ways we can. Player hosted events and contests. I'll do my part as well. I'll be a member until they shut down the server for good. Running around in my uncrafted black dragon set is all I need to enjoy PL anyways :D not saying I wouldn't enjoy an expansion or two.

Sorry but I don't get what we should do with new vanities.
It's just simply to spend plat on.
Though if u mean new vanities as a drop in maybe a new level it would be smexy.
