Just A Heads Up: Age Requirements

Aloha guys,

I've noticed that many people who play this game are of the younger variety, and because of this it sparked an idea in my head that caused me to create this thread.

As many of you don't know, the minimum age requirement of Pocket Legends (and ALL SpaceTime Games games) is 13 years old, as highlighted by this excerpt of the Terms of Service (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/content.php?385-Terms-of-Service):



Age Requirements. You must be at least 13 years old or older, as stated by the specific application Terms of Service, to Access Spacetime Applications.




In addition to this, the minimum age requirement of iTunes and the App Store is 13 years old meaning that by playing PL or any STG game you meet the minimum age requirement. The reason this is important is because a lot of people who aren't of age have been gallantly posting their ages without being aware that their accounts could be suspended or banned until they turn 13.


The purpose of this thread is to bring some attention to this little known fact about SpaceTime's games. I'm not saying that players who are underage should be purposefully lying about their ages to play this game, I'm just saying that if I were under 13, i'd be very careful about saying how old I am in respect to having my account get banned or suspended.

This is the case, however I think Spacetime Games is not very strict at all in age limits. I understand Dark Legends should have a 15-17+ restriction but a game like Pocket Legends, Battle Dragons and even Arcane Legends are pretty harmless.

Because of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) the age limit for these forums and the games themselves (because of the chat function) is 13 years old.

Although, isn't DL for 17+?
There is no chat filter so I'm not sure. Plus it's ... yah know ... gory. ;)

EDIT: Even DL's Website (http://www.darklegends.com/) says 17+.

Yeah, this is correct. The only problem is that if people lie about their age others will never be so sure of their age. People may also choose to disable age and DOB from the forums.

I know parents who play the game and have downloaded it for their children as well. Most are younger than 13. I am not against it for the most part because the parents are usually on at the same time. I think it's kind of neat.

DL's minimum age is indeed 17.

I think many of you are missing the point, I posted this as an advisement to all the possible under 13 players to be very cautious about what they post about their ages so their account won't be suspended.

Correct, the account. Will be banned until the 13th birthday then unbanned on that date.

I don't think anybody really cares about age requirements anywhere. How many 11 year olds have Facebook nowadays
