Hi,

First off, the purpose of this thread is to request if anyone has experience with the Google Nexus 4 and STG games.

I found a nice reduced deal about it, $200 for 8GB and $250 for 16GB, which would be smarter to purchase?

I'm looking for a cheap relative good Mobile for quite a while, yet - since the Armv6 devices aren't supported anymore I guess. So this is a chance, do you recommend for me to buy it?

Would it has any problems with the _L games and BD? I googled the specs of it and they are more than enough to support them.

My apologies for the puny thread, I'm in a rush atm.
(Who finds grammatically errors can keep them ;))
Thanks in advance.

I owned the Nexus 4 for a short time, I loved it but, the screen is very fragile, so make sure you get a very sturdy case. I would go with 16GB since you get double the gigs for 50$.

nexus 4 is definitly a top notch phone, you shouldn't have any problems running even the latest games like asphalt 8. consider the fact that the nexus 5 is on the horizon though, most likely a 16 gb model for 300$ and a 32gb for 350$. if you were wanting the 8gb nexus 4 then probably best bet but if you were going for a 16gb one might be better to hold off a bit and see if you can't get a nexus 5 with same amount of storage and much better specs for only 50$ more.

It definitely is a good phone. However, it has some serious Wi-Fi issues, but there are solutions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2300873) for them.

1280x768 display + lack of 4g made it a no go for me. I got a bit of time with it pre-launch. It runs smoothly but those 2 features were disapppointing for me to hear. Google Play Edition HTC One is everything and more, but the price will hit you hard compared to the Nexus 4. Snapdragon S4 with the Adreno 320 should run most things smoothly, including STS games.

Which HTC One do you mean? With 32 or 64 GB. My Cousin has it - he said he paid over $500 dollar for it.
I'm not saying I dislike HTC, I wanted one as well but such a price wasn't in my budget.

Lack of 4g means only HSDPA/3g is the highest mobile connection on the Nexus? Shouldn't really be a problem imo, I'm used to it.
But Nexus 1280x768 px vs HTC One X 1280x720 px, does it really matter actually? Lol
I also read that the Nexus has a finer display 318 ppi vs 312 ppi.

Otherwise a pro for HTC is 4 x 1.7 GHz vs 4 x 1.5 GHz and the 64GB vs 16GB.
Does the Nexus have a SD card slot? The lack of one in the HTC made me kinda meh.

Both batteries are not exchangeable right? Something I'm not a fan of as well.
The wireless charger sounds nice actually.

Ty for response btw.

The Google Edition only comes in a 32GB Silver version. I believe they're $600. Unlocked phones are always pricey. Mind if I ask why you don't want to buy a phone on contract?

If you've used a 4G enabled device before, you'll notice the difference. The fastest of HSPA+ speeds reach the slower end of LTE speeds. I'm not talking about the One X, I'm referring to the One. The One has a same sized screen (4.7"), but a 1080P display putting it around 468 PPI. I believe (don't quote me on this) the human eye sees at around an estimated 500-550 PPI so it's insanely clear.

The Nexus 4 does not have expandable memory. I believe you can access the Nexus 4's battery, but it's not just a matter of popping off the back. The HTC One has an aluminum uni-body design, so you won't be getting past that.

Did Google announce the new one yet? If not you should wait a couple of weeks (maybe about a month) so they announce their new phones. I'm not saying get the new one, but am recommending you wait so that current prices on the phones drop. It'll be better for your wallet. But if I had to make a suggestion I'd be biased. I have the Note 2 I love it, and would recommend it if you are into bigger screens lol

The Nexus 4 just dropped $100.

I've owned a Note 2 on two separate occasions. Great phone but really lack luster in some departments, IE build quality. The Note 3 is probably going to be announced Sept. 4. Release date is being rumored as late Sept. around the 27th, and a month or two later for Verizon so they can lock the boot loader, add bloatware, and throw some ugly branding on it. I'd imagine there will be a Google Edition Note 3 somewhere down the line. Overall, I wouldn't advise buying a Note 2 right now.

There's a way to implement the 4g as the device does have the 4g radios inside they're just not implemented for some reason. As for the 1080p vs 720p nonsense, you most likely can't distinguish the screen sharpness. Not to mention this phone was released in November 2012 when 720p was the standard. The s4 pro has the same GPU as the snapdragon 600 in the HTC one. Main difference is that the RAM for the snapdragon 600 is DDR3 v the DDR2 (ram is faster but both have 2GB) and the higher clock speed (1.7GHZ vs 1.5GHZ). Sorry to get all technical!

As I said above you won't really be able to tell the difference in screen quality (although HTC one has a 446 ppi vs the 320 ppi of the nexus 4) except for maybe brighter, more vibrant colors on the HTC one.

Not as easy anymore after they changed that in 4.2.2. "Nonsense" lol. I've owned a whole plethora of phones, and there is a distinguishable difference when using a 720p device vs a 1080p device. Of course the display technology is a bigger factor and it depends on the person. I personally notice the difference pretty quickly. Especially when it comes to video playback. You're talking a 150 PPI difference. Same sized display, both LCD, there will be a difference.

I know it was the standard, doesn't matter though does it? We're talking present, not 9 months ago.

468 PPI, Nexus 4 is closer to 318.

On a contract it wouldn't be. Are you trying to stay off one?

Well those are some very good points, sorry to seam hostile, just wanted to make sure he didn't end up paying 400$ more just for a higher screen resolution. By the way, the threshold of distinguishable pixels for most eyes is 300 (meaning that most people won't be able to see the pixels on a screen with a ppi higher than 300) the iPhone 5 has a pixel density of 326 and no one complains about it being an unclear screen. (To be fair it is a 4') as for the last thing, I didn't mean it was something you've got to factor in when deciding a phone I meant that you shouldn't be disappointed that a phone from November 2011 has a 720p screen.

Tried it out the first time today and I must say I'm really satisfied.
The dowloads and Websites load pretty fast, I have no issues with lags on wifi at all on all 5 games.
I'm playing on a 3G/H Hotspot ATM until I receive my Micro Sim.

Only contra point, but that's prolly because I have to get used to it that I make too many darn typos!
Well 3.2inch > Chrome > 4.7inch says it all.

Plus I found annoying bugs. But I have to look further Into them.

Boy I LOVE this phone!

Btw, I found out why it was so cheap - Google made a drastically sell-event for the upcoming Nexus 5.

The 8 GB version isn't available anymore, only the 16GB.
