Yes I have upgraded the armor, working on the helm. However its another one of these pointless random tasks.

Is there a gold requirement needed to upgrade and how much?

Any prerequisite level?

Level 36 and 100k gold to get the essense. Which is part of the quest line to upgrade.

Its hard because there is a lot of misleading information in the description of the quests, eg: 'find the rogue alchemist in keys' there isnt any rogue alchemist in keys but a nott alchemist is in the tavern..

so any idea to help us? or just do all the quests?

Go find the smurf next to the auction house in Kelys. See this screen shot:

After you turn this in to the bat in the same room as the guy you have been talking to. You need to kill the last boss but you have to wait for him to enrage. Then you need to go to the smurf with the hammer in Kelys. He'll make your armor after you collect shards from the rune stones in Nordr. Once you have the armor, the helm quest is next which is the part am on. You have to go around and smash barrels and crates in Kraken. And you randomly get one of these "missing pieces". This is the part I hate, I'd rather kill 1000 elite bosses then run around like a noob smashing crates and hoping to get a "missing piece".

While upgrading armor was fun, upgrading helm is a sheer loss of time, not requiring any skills.

FYI, you have to collect 16 pieces of helm, hidden in barrels and chests in Kraken. So, you solo Kraken again and again with probability perhaps one piece per 20 runs.

I am considering what made STS to introduce such a task - the only thing I can think of is the pot burning during these useless runs.
