does it cost you to play pocket legends online

The app itself is free. The game costs nothing to play (unless you choose to buy platinum to buy vanity items or gold) up until level 13. If you want to level up beyond that, you'll need to buy additional campaigns at a pretty nominal cost. There is no monthly charge to connect to the server.

18 actually since Dark Forest is free when you register your account, but otherwise correct.

auctally up to lvl 50 its free...For a low fee.
Also note that once you buy a campaign, there are no recurring fees to play it. It's a one-time fee of roughly $1-$2 for most campaigns (cost varies by campaign and how much "platinum" you buy at a time).
