Guide: How to Upgrade Your Mythic Helm and Armor and become “The Hero of Legend”

This guide is very self-explanatory but I wanted to share to others who haven’t completed it yet to make their questing easier. Before you proceed, you must be lvl 36 to start this quest and must wear both mythics (helm and armor) when upgrading.

Here are some basic information on the requirements and achievements.

Basic requirements needed:
1. Mythic Helm;
2. Mythic Armor;
3. 100,000 gold; and
4. Potions (optional)-you need to fight as well

Achievements that will be earned:
Orange with Envy - if you have not purchased any mythic pets before, you’ll earn this achievement once you purchased the Condensed Essence for 100,000 gold.
Anger Management
Found the Hermit
Acquired Restored Heroes Armor

The quest has actually 2 parts, each pieces have a different quest lines.

A. Upgrading your mythic armor
First go to the Forest Breach (2nd map on the Shuyal Expansion), kill the minions OR you can just run and spam pots. When you reach near the end, youll see a fork, the right direction goes to a boss, Ferrix and straight ahead youll find a mine entrance. Get inside the mine entrance, then you'll meet the Hermit and his bat, Baticus.

The Hermit will give you a quest to kill Shadowmancers on close range, easy quest just do it in close range. Go back to the Hermit to turn-over. Next he'll instruct you to meet The Alchemist at the City of Kelys to condense the essence.

The Condensed Essence

Note: You will earn the Mythic Banner once you purchased the essence, if you haven't earned it, like me. Then, you need to go back where The Hermit is and approach his bat, Baticus to verify the essence. Once verified, The Hermit will again instruct you to imbue the essence by defeating Inan'hesh at Shuyal Tower. Remember: Inan'hesh must be enraged before you kill him to complete the quest.

After defeating Inan'hesh and turning in the quest, go to the City of Kelys and approach Jerril the Blacksmith.

For the final quest of upgrading your mythic armor, you need to take shards from runes found in the last 3 maps of Nordr (Oltgar Keep, Crystal Caverns and Hall of Valheim).

Once completed, turn over and then you'll receive your upgraded mythic armor. The mythic armor changes name and the level requirement is now at lvl 36.

B. Upgrading your mythic helm

This one is a pretty straightforward quest wherein you need 16 shard pieces to upgrade the helm. These shards are found in barrels and crates in the maps of Kraken. It took me a few days to complete because these pieces are found rarely. Don't try wearing that leprechaun pendant, it doesn't matter. You can alternate Windmoore Harbor and Skull Cove for a chance of finding Elite Bael II. Once the pieces are completed, go back to Jerril to turn-over, then you'll get the upgraded helm. The same with mythic armor, it also changes name and now at lvl 36.

You can't upgrade the mythic helm ONLY. The mythic armor first gets upgraded then the mythic helm.

it is possible.. i only have the armor and borrowed a helm from a friend and did the quest for the upgraded armor then returned the helm after. I need to farm more for my own helm though lol

They are separated in the sense that you upgrade the mythic armor first, followed by the mythic helm. But the order must be followed, upgrade the mythic armor, then mythic helm, not vice versa. You can't upgrade without the matching piece, you must have both to start the upgrading quest line.

Yes, you have to wear both.

There was a noted issue before that the helm wasn't upgraded because some players tho they have the helm, have kept the helm on stash. The quest was completed but the helm wasnt upgraded. I'm not sure if STS has made a parameter to check whether the mythics is worn by the player before doing the quest line.

The Helm has to be level 26 while the Armor has to be 31 (its the only levels you can obtain them at anyway).
You can't upgrade mythic weapons, only the armor (currently)

I believe u can do the upgrade quest once per character, and only using a myth set for its class.

It'd be possible to upgrade a 2nd set if, for some reason, you have another Lvl 36 char of the same class on the same account. But it'd be pointless coz 1) you can't trade upgraded armor anyway, and 2) you can transfer your existing upgraded armor via stash. :)

Thanks for this thread. I just got my myths for my rogue yesterday. It was pretty boring bouncing back and forth between two areas to get the 16 missing pieces but eventually I got them. Also one thing that kinda is a bummer is that you lose all of the gems on the original myths when upgrading. Knowing this now there's no point in working on super gems for the un-upgraded pieces. Also another thing I noticed is that I still have the condensed essence after upgrading the armor and helm? It's still sitting in there with my amulets.

Yes you can. Though I havent completed the quest yet, I believe the quests are independent, which means you dont need the armor in your inventory when you uprade the helm :)

Yes you have to wear the helm when upgrading. You'll have to contact support and have them fix if you didn't. Much easier to just wear it since it's going to be ur's ne way currently forever since you can't sell for the time being.

You dont need to do the quest on every toon to get that achievement. You only need to put upgraded armor and helmet in stash, log on to the other toon and take it out and achievement completed.

I complete my amour mythic quest and continue to do the mythic helm upgrade. however after i had a rough time finding all the quest item in kraken isles, i went back to city of kely to complete the quest. when the quest is complete, i forgot that my helm is on upgrading(gem upgrade). so i didn't get any upgrade for this quest. even know ive done it. please please help me. i sent the msg to the support team. still waiting for their response.

Never remove your item when upgrading it u can upgrade your set eaisily in 2 to 3 hrs
Ira so easy just go to kraken 1 3 and last map...

You will need both items first to receive the upgrade quest, but if you wish, you can just upgrade armor and sell helm after that. It's highly not recommended, but it's an option. I would just upgrade both pieces of gear.
