Update on Rockin Retro Gear Contest Vanities

Hey guys,

To update you about the Rockin Retro Gear Contest Vanities, right now we're plotting on having the "dropped" vanities instead be possible rewards for the 5 day daily blessing. This should help to address the complaint we've seen where players consider the vanity shields too common. By adding these other vanities in to the mix, those shields will become more rare.

The problem with having vanities drop in Pocket Legends is re-roll elixirs. The way the system is set up, it makes it too easy to re-roll into the vanities. To avoid this, but still have some cool new vanities that free to play players can get, adding them into the 5 day blessing rewards is a nice way to do it.

The daily blessing 5 day reward vanities will have a different color tint than from the version of the vanities that are added to the store.

You could also make them as a loot from bosses? Earnable from daily 5, & from PvE; so that, it would give players a good reason to play pve :)
And you could let the other ones with a different color in the plat store exclusively.

You really should make some vanities droppable/tradable from bosses (CS is a bit lacking of vanity armor/shields tradable), but daily vanities shall not be able to be sold (to avoid hardcore blessing "farm"). You might give them another name, even if they have the same color as the droppable ones? :)

This is very disappointing to hear. Having something new to farm for would make for something interesting to do once capped. I encourage you to try to come up with a creative solution to make these items lootable. You are a bunch of smart people right? Surely you can solve this problem.

If they're only possible to get via day 5 blessing, then all it does is incentivize people to create huge armies of toons to "farm" the blessings, just like what happened back when plat was a possible reward. (And we all know how well that went.)

We'll look more at the looted vs. daily blessing issue. We agree that armies of alts are stupid (and part of the reason why Battle Dragons is the way it is regarding accounts).

Here's a look at the Overlord Helm Vanity that will be in the store. It's got a green tint and sparklies.

A red tinted version with sparklies would be the 5 day blessing / drop.

isn't it possible to mk vanities only available without re-roll so a luck elix doesn't change the chance to get a vanity drop?

To deal with your choice issue, just make both of them possible :).. And if you can, make the ones from blessings not tradable :O So that, none one would farm blessings :)

They said the price of a normal vanity set. So maybe 75 plat like the zombie gear? Or 100 since it's 3 pieces.

I don't know if it has been mentioned or not (too lazy to read all the posts) but you could always make the dropped vanities pink (like dragon gear) so they will have the same reroll chance as a normal pink item

This seems like a reasonable solution. Although this might mean they have to be sellable/tradeable just like dragon stuff. That's actually a good thing IMO but maybe devs don't want them to be sellable and that's the sticking point.

This wouldn't really become a Problem then, just ticking the right box that they're not sell-able and everything is cool.

On a Side note, the (tiny) purple Ambassador hat has the rarity ''white'' instead of vanity blue.

Maybe allow the new vanities to be dropped in something similar to winterfest where you can only join a game with people in a similar level range and make the drop rate something like the chance of getting dragon gear in vamp feast?
