Free Voice Chat

It's a free app in the app store that allows you to speak to you friends with a mic threw gamecenter.

All you need for your iPod touch is a wired mic if one is not built in.

Also you can text to chat.

The icon is green with a speaker.
And it is called Free voice chat.

I do not know if it can run in the background.

There's one small problem with this otherwise lovely idea...

Apple multi-tasking isn't true multi-tasking.

By this I mean, when you switch to another app, the one that is 'backgrounded' is frozen, and ceases function until it's brought back into use.

If you're using a Jailbroken device (can't understand why you wouldn't be... unless you're 8 or can't use google), then you can use an application called 'backgrounder', which keeps the application running in the background, which would allow you to continue using the live chat function, whilst playing the game.

The Apple SDK doesn't allow you to utilise the multitasking facility in the manner you're hoping for, so unless jailbroken, you're $hit outta luck.

WORD. that and backgrounds was my "official" reason to JB. cracked apps were, of course, not my reason. at all. nada. I mean it. lolzers.
well that and gba emulator :D

this would actually be a awesome/epic/epiawesome addition to when playing PL. no more dying while texting!

Lol. Ty for the info... I though multi tasking was when i could listen to music from iTunes library and play PL that was the background etc... :(

Still I'm gonna use this app to talk to friends...

I have it but I never tryed it while running PL.

O well... I'll wait for the PC PL client and buy a ventrilo server.

Ps: I un jailbroken my device.... Lol it slowed it down too much... I liked cydia though... Had cool apps.
