Wow...there goes my hope of capping. Could I at least have the platinum I was supposed to get? I did offers worth 80+ platinum and never got it.

Just update your device! Pretty simple and takes an hour at the MOST.

No matter what device you have makes no difference to what iOS you have. One of my friends updated to iOS 7 on their iPod 1st gen..

I have no clue what your friend did, but I don't really care. When I plug my iPod into iTunes, it says there is no update available. Besides that, I don't really feel like making my iPod as slow as a turtle.

Frankly, I don't believe that you're still in the iOS 5's anyways.. I have a 4th gen iTouch, and it's at the update before 7. And iOS 7 only takes up 700mb of space anyways.

If you lose an offer, too bad Mawthy. You're not having luck with it anyways, so I wouldn't fret too much about it if I were you.

In other words, there's a reason these exist:

May I ask how exactly you did it? I don't plan on using some weird program that will harm my computer just so I can use free offers. The whole point is, there's no reason it should be taken away. There is probably some extensive reason why developers stop supporting old versions, but it ran perfectly fine on my iPod.

My question to you is, how does someone like me now get platinum if he/she doesn't waste money on it? This was the first cap I was confident in capping. NativeX just took that away.

Oh, and I've never capped. Would be nice to do it for once. And no, I'm not grinding 100k xp solely on dailies. I would die.

What do you mean how I did it? I went on iTunes, and updated my software when the iOS 6. whatever came out

Hmm.. Try going to your "settings > general > software update" on your iPod. I wouldn't know though man. I sold my old iPod once it wasn't supported by STS

Well, I'm getting an iPhone 5s for Christmas, or money towards it...But I'm guessing BSM will be close to gone by then, and I'd prefer to experience capping now.

It is possible to spoof your ios to think it's on a higher version though success is totally dependent on why a higher version is needed. Don't try it unless your prepared for the issues that may arise.

^^ haha definitely.

I was thinking this as well and if it is because of them they better move it past ios 6 to 7 because the jailbreak community will just fly the hack/glitch up to ios 6 JS (that's what I would do if I was still jailbroken)

Lol is pure marketing. association with Apple. if nativex is not present on iOS 5 people are going to buy a Phone with iOS 6/7 so theys sell more. Marketing is that!

No matter what device you have makes no difference to what iOS you have. One of my friends updated to iOS 7 on their iPod 1st gen..

Just want to note (although this is incredibly late), that this person was talking out of their ***.

I have an iPod Touch 3rd gen jailbroken, iPhone 4S jailbroken, and a non-jailbroken iPhone 5S. The 3rd gen iPod Touch can't get any firmware beyond 5.1.1, even when jailbroke. It's basic knowledge that even with the jailbreak, you can't get any firmware higher on that device. Apple's software is custom-made for specific devices, and the jailbreak normally exploits some flaw in that software. In order to get a higher firmware, one would have to reverse engineer the entire piece of software. To date (as of this post), there has never been a single case of this.

Apple does this for many reasons. One is that the old hardware wouldn't support most of the new features, and it would bog down due to the increased hardware demands of the new software. Then we get into "If you want x feature(s), you must purchase our new hardware", aka - a profit scheme. Ultimately, it's pretty irrelevant since Apple sells current iPod Touch models for under $200, and they can run the new firmware.

But yes, this individual doesn't have a clue about what they have been spouting. After calling the other poster a liar, he was presented with images and a question of how one could possibly obtain a higher firmware version if that poster couldn't. His answer? "Oh, I dunno, I sold my device a while ago, durr durr".

Apple purposely makes their latest versions of IOS incompatible with older versions, so Apps will no longer run on it and you will need to buy a new one. Get an Android, they are useful for a much longer time.
