I agree with the STS policy not to post names of scammers.

But I don't agree with "Help Name Me" comments in a recent thread saying scamming techniques are not permitted to be discussed in forums. The forum is the perfect place to share the scams currently happening in the game.

In fact, there should be a moderated sticky to share their techniques to help players beware.

I agree with help name me cause think about it if everyone starts telling how they was scammed your only giving others ideas on how to scam

I love sts but...

Scammers scam because they get away with it... sts hasn't implemented the simple fix of adding commas in trade window and they don't punish scammers at all...

So until then trade at ur own risk.

Knowledge is power my friend..STS could easily add little "blurbs" about scamming during sign on and sign off. They don't need to call it scamming, but creative worded pop-ups would help educate all players to beware.

Sometimes the best deterrent to a problem is public awareness and education - like drug abuse, human trafficking, and STDs. However, AL is not a governed society, and does not have the tools required to fend off the problems surrounding scams. Also, there is no law enforcement within the game. So in that sense, making scamming techniques public knowledge without any of the aforementioned tools of deterrence only increases the amount of perpetrators. Prohibition is not an easy statute to install into an online game's society, especially without GMs (game masters, in-game moderators) policing the players.

So with that being said, STS's forum policy is a wise decision.

They already exist, but maybe you're right in pointing out that they aren't all easy to find. Here's 3 stickys to get you started:

Right, and you have absolutely no idea who I am or what I do for a living. Move on, troll.

Easy Taejo...Keyboard warriors and hijacking are not welcome on my thread. Lets have a good constructive conversation about how we can educate players about scamming.

Thanks for your understanding.

As Taejo stated above we do have a few threads with tips on how to prevent getting scammed.

We do not allow discussion of the scammer and how you were scammed.

It is not a good idea to discuss how you were scammed while it could help some people it could still give others the wrong idea.

If you have any other question feel free to PM me. But I am going to close of this thread.
