View Full Version : Looking for some cool people to learn and ctf with

Hi, everyone. It's come to my attention that finding a ctf game is getting pretty difficult, even though I'm still fairly new to ctf, let alone find a good game. I just can't seem to get into the arena thing. Is there a way to become actively involved and find good folks to play with besides joining a pvp guild, or is it my fate to just make a game and wait for random people to join and take my chances. And then say to myself, hopefully this will be a spectacular game. Is there anyone out there that wants a true good hearted player on board?
In the 2 months now that I've started playing ctf, I've made 3 frnds. 3 frnds that we actually conversate and talk about ctf things. When I ask for advice or help I get silence or "read forums". Gee thanks a lot.
Granted I understand that with pvp and ctf comes alot of machismo, pride, and trolling but what about just playing a good solid game, win or lose. There are no track records of how many games that you win, no stats that show how many games you lose. Seriously, as a noob to pvp / ctf I just don't get it. Are there no sensible players out there who enjoys a good match? I know I do, it's actually getting fun.
I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts, thank you.

I only CTF unless I get invited into an FFA match. CTF is very common at endgame. Most of the peeps are respectable, but there are a few who will run their mouths because you are new and unknown. I am a member of my own 2-man guild and always will be. The PvP guilds (sprry giys, it's true) are well known for their drama and constant rotation of players. It can be "lonely" at times, but you also don't have to worry about guild drama nor guild vs. guild drama. Feel free to add any of my toons on the top line of my sig as I am only playing endgame now. I can't play mage to save my life, but can help you with bear or bird.

I play for fun unless I'm on Crims team. Then of course I have to carry his weak rhino toon to make sure he wins so he doesn't get sad ;p

This is actually really true. I'm quite proud of how the guild has turned out. In it's nearly 2 years of existence its never changed guild master and never really had drama

Always target the one with the flag. Don't stop to fight his team.
If you're a bear, don't use stomp to push him in the direction of the base.
When your teammate has the flag, your job is to take all the damage directed to the flag carrier. Not to run and try to live.
Boom you're pro at ctf now.
