You can do platinum offers offered by 3rd parties which can be located on the main menu by tapping on the "Want to earn free gold and platinum?" tab right above where your gold is located. Usually these offers require you to download or do surveys. Another way is by joining the insider weekly raffle found under the Spacetime Insiders section. If you get lucky, you might get a chance to win platinum.
