Nexus 7, I stream internet radio (tunein) and run elite maps all day on the old version. You can't lag easilly.

However, the charger is VERY short. Be prepared to buy a new one or utilize an extention cord.

I think the lag issues are more server side than your actual device. The games runs pretty smooth on about any device that can actually run the game. I've even run the game on an entry level Samsung Galaxy AceIIx and it runs ok.

This is a little off topic. I also have the old one and I seem to be having battery problems. I can't seem to get it to charge. Are you having any problems similar to that?

iPad mini. Its not android, i kno, but I got 4000 plat so far with the free plat offers. Think about that and the price difference is no more relevant.

For me an iPad3 is too heavy and too large to feel comfortable. Sams Galaxy S3 is OK (12cm = 4.8 inch) but I could handle a bit larger as well.

The nexus 7 is a great device at an excellent price point. Since the original poster asked which android and not ios device - from a cost to performance aspect I prefer the nexus 7, it has a really beautiful screen and the size makes it really comfortable to hold.

I suggest either next Gen nexus 10, kindle fire HDX8.9, iPad 5, or galaxy note 10.1 (2013). None of these will leave you disappointed.

At this time of year, many manufacturers are refreshing their hardware so just wait it out a bit more so you can see the full range of the latest and greatest :)
As far as smaller tablets go the front runners are the Kindle fire HDX7, nexus 7 (2013),and ipad mini 2 (yet to be unveiled)

Old Nexus 7, runs great. Might recommend new version. Screen has a lot better resolution and performance wise there's a huge leap forward (even if it can't be noticed in most apps).

To the person that has issues with the Nexus 7 charging I suggest you check XDA forums there's a few threads there on the subject. And yes the charger cord is very short and so far it's the only one I can charge while playing and the battery doesnt deplete.

I'm researching longer cords that may solve this little problem.

iPad mini. Perfect size. Wait until next month and it will have a retina display.
