I guess I don't have many favorite games since for 12 years my parents were extremely against video games so being at a friends house was the only way i got to use any. But in order my favorites would be:

Age of empires 1: Rise of Rome is absolutely the best game ever. Even though it's quite old (original game was released in 1997, RoR one year later), it still is the most entertaining strategy game ever made. It even looks better than modern RTSs, lol. When good graphics are more important than functionality, something is definitely wrong.

Only problem it has are some small balance issues, like heavy catapult + heleopolis combo.

Last of Us. Which is kinda ironic as I hate zombies and I do not own a PS3. I watched a Lets Play series out of it and the storyline is the best I've ever seen in a game. If the game was turned into a movie (2 or 3 movies, 1 would be too vague to tell the story in enough detail), it would have been a total blockbuster.
