Not everyone. A newbie joins, asks for rep and ends up with 6 bars for no constructive nor funny posts. Someone else hits 2 bars and hopes people for the same result as the newbie. 2 people, maybe a few more subtly asked for bars.

Rep is just an overall virtual representation of yourself to others in the community, but does not actually prove how contributive you are in reality...I don't get why people freak out about boosting their rep lol .-.

Because most of us, including me, had to work hard and post useful comments to earn the respect of others, instead of just beg or pay for it.
