I think the question should be edited to: Am I finding a clever way to beg by PMing the people asking for items who say yes to my initial question?

I can vouch for ink. Back when I was in Deviant Misfits, he never fails to give cash or kind to guildies! I do give certain stuff of worth to close friends. It really is a nice feeling to watch them grow over time. Next thing you know they're the ones backing you up.

I usually hide in the crowd whenever I give lol they don't know what hit them.
Occasionally I try to give crappy common items to those players with arcanes/mythics. If they have the receive gifts enabled, boom! Spammed with garbage. Lmao I do it on my alt though

I only felt generous a couple of times, its mostly when i find a nice "noob" in twink pvp.
1. This guy kept complementing me as i killed and healed me as flag so brought him a set
2. This mage kept killing with me owning loads o twinks so i gave him 18k and gear

I gift quite often, totally randomly, and to people whom I think deserves it.
Deserving can be nice people I meet in town, players I come across in an Elite map that are good but undergeared, people in PvP who are getting farmed but don't rage over it, etc.
I gift on all my toons, so be nice and perhaps you might get a trade request from some noob who unloads on you.
