Regarding Bumping of Threads

We have noticed an increased number of people who have been bumping their own or other players threads in the trader’s market forum.

The forum rule (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/misc.php?do=vsarules) states:

Bumping posts in order to keep them near the top of the list is also prohibited.


We allow informative posts to your thread and do not considered them bumping. Here are some examples of informative posts.


Mythic gun has been sold. I am still selling Mythic Daggers.
Price has been dropped to 8 million.
I have an offer for 2 million in game. Any other offers?
If it has been 24 hours you are welcome to post in your thread that you are still selling/buying an item.


What isn’t allowed and considered bumping:


Bump
Do not bump others players threads
Any other non informative posts.

In my opinion if your if you are selling an item and it has been up for a day or two you probably need to drop the price. Which would be an informative post.

I think it's because for the 3 years that forums have been up for, bumping was never strictly enforced. However, the problem extrapolated in AL because here, everybody is bumping their threads every 3 hours.

If you look in the PL section, that is not the case.

If it's enforced now, that's great. At least now I have some more information about an item that I may be interested in.

Cool! 24 hour bumps sound reasonable. It was getting really bad with all the bumping lately, and this can hopefully restore some order in the traders market.

Not to fragment it too much, but maybe a seperate section with 'price checks' could be useful too. If people want to have an idea of what an item is worth, they could post in that section.

Bumping is the same as Necro really, but bumping is where when your thread goes down the page to old news, where not many will see, so you bump it by posting in it, then it gets bumped back to the top of the page again. :)

Necro posting is just where say a thread hasn't had any posts within lets say 4-5+ days, that's sort of a Necro, most hated ones are like a month ++ because it really is unnecessary
