Do end gamers want a tournament? [Archive]

Hola,

I know that CrimsonTider was in the process of hosting a tournament, but in the off-topic section he has decided that he would quit.

With that, I seriously doubt any end game PvP tournament is underway.

Do you guys still want one? I don't know if I'd join this one, but I'd be happy to host a tournament for you guys. It can be with prizes, or without... just for fun.

Just comment your thoughts, thanks.

It'd be fun, and to make it even more "fun," make it class specific gear! (Rhinos- Str and Fox- Dex) First three classes are obvious .-. I'd def be interested :)

There just isn't the player base for a large scale tournament, as much as I hate to say it. It would be a small tournament at best.

This is not 2011 I fear.

@Arg - I responded to you a pretty thorough PM. But one my points stated the player base has been in a decline since 2011... just as WhoIsThis stated (and I directly saw this post after sending you the PM). It doesn't mean that hosting a tournament is impossible, but much more difficult than it had been before.

I remember when spots would fill up in a matter of 2 hours... that's how eager players were to join.

The majority of end gamers don't use the PL forums now, and that means for hosting tournaments:

A.) Major advertising has to be done in game. (i.e. spreading the word around).

B.) When players aren't familiar with the forums, it's incredibly difficult to have a tournament go accordingly as planned.

Yeah, that was not fun. Hosting tournaments was easier back around a couple years ago. It's tough now.

Balance wise, it would not be. Str bears would destroy int mages and dex birds.

I play bird no elite ring and I beat 3 piece bears and trust me there are birds out there that are much better then me. Birds aren't underpowered they just aren't op anymore.

Here's what I propose: if you guys can get a list of 10 ACTIVE end gamers that would happily participate in the tourney, and at least 4-5 of you do, I'll consider it. I'm just uncertain with the lack of end gamers in the community and the fact that most end gamers don't use the forums (which would affect the rate of the tournament).

You could say that to a lot of people, must be one fight where you won the battle with a 3 piece and you could count that as a win, you could of versed someone with huge lag, or just really sucked so bad. Birds aren't as underpowered as mages are against bears. You have to be VERY precise and SUPER quick to beat a bear...

No in ctf birds can beat bears all the time as you said takes timing. 1v1 go fights is obviously a lot harder because I was doing 1v1 go fights vs a good bear he beat me something like 10-4 then we were FFAing and I beat him 10-5. Was a 3pc bear that is respected IMO and not a noob with 3pc.

One vs one, they can own anyone. Only if you have 3 pce ring. As for ctf mana runs out fast u have to hide and run away, especially from birds.

I don't know, nor do I even know if I am making a tournament. People made such a big deal out of elite rings and founder's helms, it got way out of hand.
