Access to ingame menu when first logging was removed.. Why?

If for some reason I had to stop playing in the middle of something. (phone call, app crash, world on fire)
Before this last patch I could easily get back into the game I left by logging in, and opening the menu and joining one friend that was with me.

This ability to get into the menu has been removed. It does not show up until I have joined and spawned somewhere. This is very annoying, Ill thank you to have to put back.

The old interface could take you to the menu from login, the new one, requires you to be in game

oooh. You can get to the menu without going into the game by clicking on the store button and browsing to the other tabs. :)
