I am sure that there are a few people who tried this out when it first came out and haven't logged in since then. All those people are doing is taking character names that others could be using. Why not make a rule that if you haven't logged in, in 90 days, that your account will be deleted, and all items and characters and such will be removed as well?

90 days isn't really that much. If anything, give them a year.

i say, 6 months and delete their name, if they rejoin, make them choose a different name (This is a GREAT idea!)

Blizzard does 90 days with Diablo and it works great. You have to log in for at least two full hours during your first 48 hours of playing, and then after you do that you just need to log in to each character you make at least once every 90 days to keep him. As another user said, the game hasn't even been out six months and there are tons of inactive users just taking good names.

i dont even get a name?!? lol
that would be a great way to do it, paired with kossi's idea of (im guessing) letting players who are inactive for too long get their char back, with a different name. (would be good seeing as some players could be inactive due to equipment malfunctions, as i was for about a month when my ipod backlight went out)

I agree for free accounts 90 days would work. But for those who invested more time and money into it, that doesn't seem fair. Perhaps they just needed to take a break for a while and will be coming back? Maybe instead send warning emails to inactive players and let them log in once to show they still want to keep their account.

Could limit to free accounts only or only to inactive accounts. So you don't have to log every character. Just one.

Some of these innactive accounts are definitely users who havnt spent a penny, not even reached cap. Played to lv4 then quit. Deleting them would be no hassle.

It's a good idea! My sugg: send an email notification after 6 month, delete after 9.

Gonna start a character and snag the Royce name if it goes up for grabs. Can then save it for him till he gets the itch and comes back,

What would be the point of keeping people around who are clearly not coming back? All they need to do is send out an email stating that they have a change in the TOS and they need them to log in within the next 30 days. If you do not log in during the 30 day time period, the account will still be there, but the characters will be gone. Once you log in and verify your account again, you need to log in once every 90 days to keep your characters. 3 months is a lot of time to be inactive for a mobile game. Plus, the developers have already stated they had been thinking about purging inactive accounts before I suggested it.
