The one feature that Pocket Legends does not have that I am amazed it is missing is voice chat. The in game typing is nice, the shortcuts are great for quick and common messages, but voice chat is something that should really be available. Here are some implementation ideas:

-Deactivated in towns, 25 voices is too much
-Make it optional and off by default
-Separate options for listen only, talk only, or listen and talk
-Indicate somehow when someone is not listening or is not speaking or neither so that people don't scream at you for not listening
-Disallow for people on Edge networks
-If voice chat is turned on, you speak to people in your instance only

right now only way I see it is to have a chat for free program, Jailbreak and run it in background while playing. this would be cool, also if you could connect it to the game center...

Instead of making a new topic I am bumping this one up. I want voice chat badly. There are plenty of low bandwodth codecs that would work on 3g (if it had to be 4g/wifi only, I would be ok with that).

Voice chat in town would be possible with a proper party system (meaning you can party up in town instead of having to go to an instance).

I have a feeling there's a ton of people who I just plain wouldn't want to hear talking ;)

LOL no doubt. But if it is limited to your party, you could just leave. This would also be something that would be great for when guilds are finally implemented.

There is Mangler & Ventriloid for Droid just don't know how to get it to work while playing the game because it is push to talk. If there was any way to get a key press while playing the game it would be awesome!

there should be voice chat when you are trading with someone, so bartering would be easier and you could have private didcussion with someone

Pretty sure you can map the push button to a physical button on the phone or even a capacitive button.

Dude. Its the hell laggy enough.

Most of the lag is due to the fact that you are playing on a cell phone. Cell networks have high latency, no way around it. Voice chat would not have a great impact on that since latency really doesn't matter, it mostly cares about bandwidth. As long as the bandwidth is there you should be fine. There are many very lean voice codecs that would work on 3g without much trouble. The quality may not be great but it would be enough. They could even have the codec change based on if your on 3g or 4g/wifi.

But the conference call has to be made over a PC. This can't be started on a phone. But I do hope devs are trying to implement this feature.
