I'm in the process of updating what will be on the Deal of the Deal over the rest of December and wanted to get your feedback. I thought it would be fun to include some exclusive items, like the vanity helm Xperia Play buttons and Chrome Button, maybe the Apple vanity helm.

What do you think? Anything else "cool" that you would like to see in the Deal of the Day for the Holidays?

I'm sure we can all agree that anything Somewhat similar to Star Wars would be awesome, I mean we already have the robes, why not get a "plasma sword" :P
Also, I think a free platinum gift (even something as small as 5 plat) or credits would be a wonderful Christmas gift!! One more thing that would be nice....maybe two lol. First would be an update to the guild system. Maybe add "co-owners" and make it easier for guild masters to see who has been active. (Holy crap a guild PvP area like a new towne or capture the flag would be cray cray. Second Would be adding a bounty system where we could put "bounties" on our toons that would have whatever payout we list. And not just bounties, maybe escort jobs (help completing missions) or retrieval (gathering items or weapons for crafting)* I'd be willing to clarify anything if you like the idea* . Sorry if I'm rambling, I just find it exciting that we're getting an update! As for exclusive items such as vanities....I don't know???I'm sorry. XD sorry! So yeah, please please please, consider the above? Thank you!

As for the Arbiters stuff, we don't have that queued up currently, but we know that it is an item we would like to take a look at in the future. No promises as to when, but we're aware of it.

Yeah, I think if you were to bring back any event exclusive vanities, you should rename them (recolor them if you have time) to avoid confusion with newer players.

Also, I had an idea that you could make the white beard from the Old Man Winter vanity a standalone vanity separate from the winter hat. You could then recolor it in a few common hair colors, so people could wear beards year-round.

Also, would a "bald cap" vanity be possible? There is an NPC in the base that has a bald head, and players have expressed interest in having such a hairstyle for themselves.

Just food for thought. I'm looking forward to this year's Winterfest

Personally, I don't find this idea very appealing. Sure it might be cool to relive the glory days but this time with a van you missed out on, but it really isn't fair to those who got here first and payed the plat to get those vans first. I don't have too many of the "limited" vanities, but I have enough to say it's not cool to implement these back into the game when people have already had their chances to get them.

I hope others can agree with me on this, but if you guys wanna add stuff into the game. Don't add old stuff that might seem cool, add some new stuff that IS cool!

Sorry mate, I didn't want to just throw in previous exclusive stuff. We've brought the Silver Jetpack back from time to time, so that seemed appropriate. The blue visor is a new variation on the popular visors. The Sony Xperia Play buttons are previous to an event, but they were free at that time (but only if you were lucky enough to catch the Android online).

So I actually read through this whole thread, and I started laughing. Everyone is fine with bringing stuff back, as long as it isn't their own!

I appreciate what you're trying to do Sam, but these exclusives are all the old players have left. Please don't destroy the small iota of a good community that's left in SL just to make some money.

That's my opinion, and it just seems unfair that this stuff should be brought back when they were considered to be rare, one time exclusive vanities (the only reason most players even bought them in the first place).

EDIT: Please just make new ones or recolors, don't bring back the exact same items. That's just a big slap to the face, at least allow the people who got them originally to have some margin of respect for getting it when they did. Like make a green apple helm or a red jetpack, don't just make it the same for the sake of convenience. Frankly it's insulting the people who earned them fair and square the first time. Don't mean to sound like a hater or rude, but this infuriates me because I spent good money on vanities (the silver jetpack for example) and to see any be brought back just shows how false those promises of limited time were. Please rethink what you're doing, or at least recolor the vanities. I'm not sure how many people would leave, but it'll be all the old players who those vanities mean something too, and after they're gone, there's no one left who can respect this game and treat it the way it should be treated.

If I leave, it'll be because of the actions I stated to avoid.

Then please read the origin of the debate, and please post your opinion to it. I can restate what the other vets and I are suggesting:
1) recolor the vanities, leave the originals as their own separate things, it isn't just to take our limited time items and just remake them
2) refund our purchases (or if you want to be generous let us keep the vanities and add the amount of platinum they're worth)
3) remove the vanit(y/ies) that people bought (ie silver jetpack) from DOTD suggestions and keep the free ones (ie Xperia buttons)
4) don't do this at all

Additional ideas:
1)make a poll of items that didn't require platinum to purchase, and add the most popularly voted ones as DOTD, that way it shows people will indeed look forward to buying them instead of making angry people who bought platinum limited time items

Please respond to this post, it will determine the fate of some of the remaining veterans.

PS forumers reply to this post with your own suggestions and ideas, and what you'd like STS to do about this.

Right now it would help all the concerns regarding old exclusive vanities. I remember when the Chrome jetpack was the best..and gave out silver antennas. aA Blue jetpack would just be drop dead gorgeous. actually match many armors and vanities in-game

Even if I'm going to be the only one on this "debate" of yours who will actually support bringing back old vanities as is, so be it. I do not have an issue with recoloring them yet you "old" players managed to rush in this so aggressively -in fear that your "cool" limited vanities will fly away- that forced Sam to reconsider and add the less attractive ones only.

I'm sure the veteran community isn't bound by such ridiculous things as vanity possessions; vanities were and are here to add some spice to the gameplay, not define it. If you stayed at SL for this long, it's rather obvious that you enjoyed *playing* the actual game, not just posing around with your exclusive vanities. If that's not the case, see the little red button on the upper lright corner of your browser? Click it.

Seriously now, you can't really do much more than threatening. If you actually ever took the time to read the Terms of Service, you'd see that this whole demand of refunding platinum for loss of their exclusiveness is quite laughable. And here's the quote from ToS:

Platinum/Pearls. While using our Spacetime Applications, you may purchase Platinum or Pearls, which are in-game currency used to access certain features and functionality. Spacetime reserves the right in its sole discretion to change the amount of Platinum/Pearls or the fee required for Platinum/Pearls for use of any given feature. Platinum/Pearls have no real world value and may only be used to purchase virtual products or services provided by Spacetime. Platinum/Pearls have no cash value and are non-transferrable. Even in the event the "old" community decides to break off the game as "payback", SL won't take that much of a hit and it's certainly worth the risk. Most of them just joined up the uproar of the alpha-annoyed old players, they'll suck it up and keep playing. Hell, maybe they'll see the good side in this and grab some stuff for their new toons. I'm not going to go through the psychology behind this, it's just how it works lads. And quoting Boromir somewhat falsely, "One does not simply stop playing SL.".

Lastly, since we all know that making new vanities from step one is currently out of question, guess what type of item would make the new players buy more platinum; some unattractive, unnoticeable petty old vanities? Or the real thing, the legendary vanities they randomly saw all this time and just can't wait to get their hands on? You decide.

I realize that as an independent game developer, you have limited resources, and you must focus on the games that bring in the most revenue. However, I hope you eventually find the time to include the remainder of this vanity set.

everyone Needs To Quit Complaining. I Really Dont Care If They Sell Limited Edition Items Again. It Doesn't Affect Me Or You. Its Also A Great Way For Sts To Make Money On This Game, Which Seems Like There Isn't aLot Coming In Right Now For Them. And More Money EquaLs More Money And Man Power Put Back Into The Game. Which Means More Updates. I've Played This Game Long Enough And Have Tons Of Limited Edition vanities, And IF This Means Letting New Players Buy Them And Make Sts Income From This Game, Then So Be It, But I Expect New And Exciting Stuff In The Future. There is also the military vanities from the Bug Bash event that might be cool to put on the Deal of the Day over the holidays. Also, maybe the green antenna (for our Android loving folks) as well as the Apple icon vanity helm might be cool. The Sony Xperia Play button vanity helms might be cool too. I'll be digging at it more on Monday the 16th. The update with Winterfest stuff is planned to go out on the 17th.

Btw the vets out there thinking "well they were exclusive vanitys" instead of spending time to fight the new generation over this maybe find a solution in stead like suggesting "recolor them" cuz honestly then when there recolored and put out on the market both new and old players will purchase plat to buy them and that gives more money for sts to even make more updates and then more purchases will he made and it keeps going this is probably our only chance to have a better future gaming experience so place don't be mad or upset about it------- and for the new players who are suggesting specific vanitys for specific events please stop suggesting those because those are for specific events and that will unbalance the amount of players who will stay with star legends for the long run so I suggest you stop asking for sci fi packs and avengers pack instead ask for stuff like black glasses or grey jackets or even team 6 pack with a recolored dark green to match a forest (sorry I mean there are some things I want to :P) sorry for my horrible use of word placement I'm to lazy
