The only way to get away from the bear is to run the exact opposite direction, moving anywhere to the left or right means the bear gets closer. But the bear will eventually catch up to you due to the curved outline of forest fight. The only strategy a bird can do is maneuver around trees to get distance between the bear again, and then the cycle must continue once reaching another edge of the map.
