Never ever thought this was possible because he runs off before his energy is depleted, but during a PUG run looking for portals at the normal Southern Seas we managed to actually kill Captain Bloodhammer!
He just died and disappeared, didn't run off and leave any chests, no portal appeared, no 'shimmering' exit to Paradise Pier, and the ground was still flashing red with cannonballs(?) dropping from the sky and causing damage.
Very funny to experience.

when he still attacks he doesnt run away :) and if we use stun pets he wont either, then with enough damage you can kill him fast.

I was also in a group recently that "accidentally" killed Bloodhammer. I am much more careful to slow down now as he reaches escape point...

Almost killing and killing are 2 diffrent things.
he was 5% hp or around that. u understand what i mean dont be difficult
when u get bloodhammer to low hp, it gains a few more hp and runs away. just dont kill it and u will earn achievement,loot and crates to open

It must be a prior bug, because out of the thousands of times spent as SS, since recent updates, he always gains a big percentage of health and holds it til he jumps. No matter how many times you hit him, the damage is zero.
