I was asking because I've always posted on the forums mostly on my phone, and I've never been able to put on a custom avatar even when I have a G+ account.

There has to be a way to what? Change your avatar picture to something other than your G+ one, or a way to change the avatar to a G+ picture? Both of these are "yes" as you've been the first person I've seen to have an avatar that is not from the lists STS gives as options. Yes to the other because there is always a way to change your avatar in the "Settings" area.

I don't know. Do you have an account for something like a Gravatar which can automatically apply itself to different websites? I have one for Battlelog and it actually used the same avatar for different places I logged into with the same email. I have yet to see my G+ avatar do that though.
