View Full Version : Private games and passwords - please make them necessary

I'm sure this has been brought up before. But when you make a private game, you create a password. The password doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone on your friends list can join without it, then friends of friends can join, friends of friends of friends..lol. It just kind of defeats the purpose.

What I'd like is for people to have to put in the password to join, even if they're on your friends list. Sometimes I just want to play solo or with a friend or two. I don't want to have to boot people out of my games, I really don't like doing it. It could cause drama, and it could get awkward when you boot someone who is on your friends list. And I'm not going to delete everyone on my friends list just so I can play private games privately.

Please make the password necessary. People could either enter the password to join, or there could also be a second option where they don't have to if they were invited by the host. Just my two cents, thanks!

Lock options would be cool. Or friend folders.

Yes, I've brought this up before and it's still a problem. I actually have deleted people from my friends list so I don't have to deal with awkward booting. It is kinda silly the way it works right now.

I got so many buds -_- my list is endless. Waiting for folders badly lol. Good thing I don't lock...

Ps if I join a locked game, I think every single lv40 and above now can too lol

Lol so we shouldn't invite you to any games then, huh? ;)

I just wanted to resurrect this topic. There is a good feature here, passworded games, but it is broken. If I am making a password, people should have to know it to join my private game, whether they're on my friends list or not.

How often has anyone had someone not on their friends list ask for the password to a game? Never? And as it stands now, friends don't even need to know it to join. The password is useless, but I think it would be a good feature if it actually served a purpose. When I make private games for soloing or playing with certain friends, I just randomly type in letters for the password. If someone asked me what the password was I wouldn't even know.

Many times I just want to play my private game solo, but someone on my friends list joins. Some don't even leave when I tell them sorry this is private. So because I hate to boot friends, I leave my own private game.

For those that like the current setup as it is, where friends can join anyway, maybe there can be two options. The current way (locked, but friends can join) and password required (nobody can join without it)

It's a good topic. Also adding min/max level when creating a game would be very nice.

Aren't they already fixing this in 1.6?

Is it? 1.6 thread (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?14197-Preview-of-Apple-submission-this-week-%281.6%29). I can't find where it says that.

Hmm I don't see it now, but could have sworn I did. Anyone else see it or am I imagining things?
