Selling items to vendor

New player just stared yesterday and I have a question about sellings items to a vendor. When I open up my backpack I see an options to sell from within the backpack, but from playing other rpg games that seems like a transmute type sell. Anyway, is their another way to sell? Lets say to the vendor.

The answer is no.

You can only liquidate or sell to other person using trade, or give items

You can sell using the Consignment Shop in Balefort. You can also sell to players by going to towns and saying "Buying/Selling 'item' for 'price'.
