Essence drops

Are they completely random or are there certain maps where you're guaranteed to find them? Thanks for any and all replies.

And it seems like the secretly buffed the drop rate again or something. After they originally "fixed" it, I didn't get as much or any, now its pretty much a steady amount which I cannot complain about. Also I note that higher difficulty level maps or maps that scale to your level tend to drop them more.

Yes, it is a totally random drop.

But as Keikali said above, it's been dropping at a steady rate after the fix.


I find you get at least one type of essence in each map you completely run. But that only in my experience.
