Are accounts and characters persistent across all devices?

I've made an account and a character on my iPhone, and it's all fine. If I installed the iPad app on a new iPad, would I be able to log in to the same account and use the same character? Also, if I play on the iPad app, can I play with my brother who uses an iPhone, or can I only play with other iPad users?

(Just want to say excellent job on the game guys. It's great fun and it performs surprisingly well, particularly on the iPhone 3G. It does get quite laggy in some spots, but I imagine that wouldn't be a problem on the 3GS and iPad).

Yes, it is on all devices, you will have the same equipment and everything, nothing will be lost ;)... and as for your brother], you can play with him as both devices are connected to the same severs/realms (alterra). Go ahead :D
