Probably the hardest and longest quest in the game in my opinion. So glad I finally completed it. Wish the reward was better lol.

Once I completed it, I have never looked at the weapon I choose ever again lol. Imo if they made more quests to turn the pieces into a set then I would definitely be more happier to do the quests, esp if the stats were pvp worthy on them.

Congrats!

Yeah the 1k snowball is one of the longest and most boring quest.

Imo 500 ichors quest tops this though.

Not really. If you get a good bear to beckon to a wall and get a mage to firestorm, it's about 3-5 pellets in a second.

Even solo with a high level char you can do pelts in an afternoon, snowballs in two. You can farm potions while doing the quests. That gives you a stash break every 3 maps ;)

Good thing there are no ichors anymore, that was demotivatingly long!

I wish we had more of those quests for sets (like the AO mystery sets; and cyber sets)

wishful thinking..

These two quests (by the way, it's "pelts" not "pellets") are definitely too long for the modern game. Maybe back when it was introduced it was reasonable to do that much work for a L35 weapon, but in today's game pretty much nobody is going to complete the quest while the reward is still relevant to them. These quests are basically good for only two things now: something to do for those who just want the bragging rights for completing all quests, and collecting the reward weapons for use on other low-level characters. I've gotten each set of rewards (str, dex, int) and have found it useful to give to a new character I'm leveling up. But none of my chars has ever been in a position to actually use the weapons they earned themselves.

I finished pelts in one night with my lvl 76 Mage haha. Nice though

Map 4 yields around 50 pelts and 25 snowballs.
So you need to clear the map 20/40 times.
Solo with 71 mage, no elixirs it took me 5 minutes to clear. Even with a bear it won't be much longer.
So you can finish 1000 pelts in 100 minutes, 1000 snowballs in 200 minutes when not using elixirs.

Just tried with 76 mage on 3x, took a bit under 3 minutes.
So 60/120 minutes for the whole quest, I don't think that's too long.

Ichor definitely the longest, even if you do use thrashers and get 2 everytime.

5 cyber sets and 8 black ice weapons... Let's just say "Maybe one more time"

Sure, that's not so long. But what use does a level cap have for those weapons? It takes quite a lot more effort to complete with a character who can actually make use of them.

true. None of my characters had any use for the reward for the items by the time you are done. And now they just take up stash space because you spent too much time getting them, you dont want to liquidate. ha

That's true, but it had always been like that. Frozen had been released during 45 cap iirc. So even then I'd guess the majority of quest finishers were way beyond 30.
So I'd say black ice is meant to be more of a good looking vanity than a useful weapon option.
I actually did one set of pelts/snowballs on a 30 with 30 max guild party. It isn't as hard as I had thought it to be, challenging tho.
