Make a lvl one, turn off exp, and farm skeleton cult crypts. Preferably with a higher lvl friend and a reroll. They will drop like crazy.

Seems like you already have whats needed. As Bonthan said, farm in the crypts. The trolls in road to forest haven drop gems too.

Don't even THINK about buying craft items from CS. They charge, like, 20x more than it was meant to be.
What I do to farm gems like that (gladiator gems, etc.) I do runs in "The Skeleton Cult Crypts!" area. It helps to use a few elixers, but I usually get the same results. I don't know about this, but there might be a quest with a reward of something like that.
