Report Button 2.0

Quick suggestion...

Can we have the report button in game to bring up a menu were you can specify your report.

In the menu it will have different reasons why your reporting a player.

Example.

Haressment
Scam
Rude behavior
Spam
Impersontion
Hacker
Other

You click on and you write a description what happened and you press send.
The report will be sent to the dev team and it will be easy for them to sort the reports too.

This will make it so report button is useful and people can not abuse it like some people are doing now.

Well if you fill out the report , you are going to have to write a decent reason or description.

(it is being sent to the devs) so if you write a false report or random letters you would be spamming the devs.

This would make people not abuse it.

There are ways of scaming that I have seen and yes people can get hacked... Also saying rude words or phases is against the rules... I'm sure people got banned for all of the above. This idea can help make the report button have better use and make people not abuse it.

it is possible to hack the game. its possible to hack any game if you know enough about the system its on.
just like its possible to jailbreak an ipod, that is essentialy, hacking the ipod itself.

Also make sure the reporting indicates WHO is reporting you. Totally ridiculous to see a message that you have been reported WITHOUT no why or who when nothing has occured!!! If there are players doing this, it will quickly solve itself if players start banning the repeat offenders from there games. This will force players to be true to the cause of reporting.

I think that they leave the report anonymous because players would question the reporter and say..

"why did you report me?" "I did not do anything"
" I'm going to report you now"

Thats the whole point! Players would self govern who the problems are AND be able to remedy the problem. This would result in the reporter being sure they are actually reporting proper information. Te reporter would most likely be eliminated from running with certain types. Either that would address the person accordingly or leave. Both are good reasons why!

But if you report a person for actually doing something wrong, you might not want them knowing it was you. They could have friends who will make your in-game life miserable for getting them banned or whatever.

Hahaha, man up! Or women up? That's just life... This is a game. I think people would rather know what is and whom is reporting whatever it is being reported. For example, I know of a couple players that can't speak without profanity in every live. After playing and getting to know them, I am pretty sure this is how they are in real life. Do you report then for being themselves? Some people would instantly do that while others may not. Reporting is very subjective. Why would we care about either side of the coin so to speak? If offend publicly, then it should be reported publicly....

Well I personally wouldn't report someone over language. I would report for other reasons, such as impersonating a dev (if they're doing it as more than just a joke), threatening, trying to buy accounts.

Although I'm too lazy to report -- I've yet to report a single person, even though I've taken screen caps of offenders lol.

I asked asommers about that whole reporting abuse since I was scared of multiple abused reports leading to a ban, he said they're currently working on some sort of confirmation, a notification to the reported, and if its a useless or stupid report then it could lead to a ban to the reporter. Hopefully I understood those things right.

There is. Devs have logs of every action that happens in the game. If someone reports say 50 people. Then all devs have to do is look at their all powerful logs of data. It will show he has reported several times, thus punishment.

I agree, there should be a way to prevent report button abuse! I've been reported for not giving away money for free lol ( a dude begging 10k). And another time for not wanting to buy a rusted axe lol

Yeah I've been reported plenty of times. I believe 6 times in forest haven, right as I spawned.
