Why are there 9 posts to a page?

I know it's a minor thing, but it kinda bugs me. Should be a nice round number like 10 per page. Is this universal or is there a way to change it in my settings?

I've never noticed that, But I run a vBulletin forum also.

The setting is at: Settings->Options->Thread Display Options (showthread)->Maximum Displayed Posts Before Page Split.
Then change that value to '10' or whatever.

It's true though. It says 10 replies on the main page but when I open thread it splits to two. Always thought the standard was 10 too :p
