This idea will bring more variety in armors and weapons, more customization, and also a great way to dispose of junk items.

Plus combining the most legendary items together with create gear that is epic for its level. (Will be extremely rare considering it drops from rare drops that require several drops).

ENCHANTING
Every item in the game will have a item in it.

Green Items will be made up of Rare Stones.
Purple Items will be made up of Gems.
Pink Items will be made up of Cyrstals.

Once you take the Stone, Gem, or Crystal out of the item, it crumbles to dust. There will be four types of Stones, Gems, and Crystals.
Common, Uncommon, Epic, and Legendary. The better the item you take the gem out of, the higher the chances at a better level of gem. (meaning junk items have a chance for a legendary item but extremely small.)

Now, you might be wondering "what good are these gems if items crumble when removed?". Thats were Forging comes in.

FORGING
You melt down items like armors and weapons into metals (Or break them down into the leathers or wools for mages and birds).
Same concept as gems and cystals. Except instead of a gem or crystal, you get a metal or leather.

Once you have a gem and/or metal, you can combine them into a weapon, armor, shield, or helmet. There will be several variations because you can combine any level with any rareness. The top items will be the hardest to achieve in the game, much rarer than vyxnaar helm.

P.S. - The idea of gems has been suggested before. I really liked the idea, but the thread seems dead and I cannot find it. (Link please if you have it). I therefore take no credit for the idea of gems.

Thats fine, I think this idea might eventually go through, there already is a quite refined one on your thread and it has been quite popular and supported.
