Problem is not with bears but with the Savage Scythe Set. Remove the 5 Crit a piece bonuses and you have a tank class. Not only are bears fixed, Pallies are also nerfed and so are Warbirds.

Well bears were also nerfed the least it seems. But yes the items are a big factor in bears being op. In endgame its the savage, in 56 sm and bt mace has base damage close to some endgame items, in 40 its plat packs. Take away the high damage and bears can tank like they are meant to.

This is my first time playing bird, so I may just suck, but to my experience, it is very difficult to play ctf when there is a pally and two bears on the other team (for example). I can barely take out one bear before being beckon stomped by the next one, and then the other bear I just killed just gets revved by the pally sitting in the back. I mean, I wouldn't mind if there was a variety to PvP. Everyone and their mothers use a savage set. I have never seen so many pallies and warbirds before.

I think if sts nerfed the DMG, on the savage set, and decreased the dodge slightly... But if sts needed the dodge, wouldn't all bears good Dex?

I can kill dex bears with my Mages and bird. I can hardly every kill a savage bear.

I think bears should have dodge that's part of being Tanky. However high damage is not.

First off, great thread will, I agree most brag about killing others. Back on topic, I see it as bears are OP because of beckon and/or stomp, if it were debuffed tho, it would still be like L40 PvP, where bears stun you over and over. But to be honest, as an angel bird with phoenix bow, I see it simple to kill them, yet I have a hard time finishing them off lol, but I'll cover this for y'all.

I will start from a mages perspective:

Bears are meant to be tanky yes, also they have a really high hit, not including, beckon stomp. But, if you notice, a bear on rage, is a no-no, if they auto you twice w/o your heal you are most likely dead. To be honest, an int mage will not prosper with more kills and deaths due to the fact, for example: Beckon(6) stomp(9) with sms any level above two sends them flying yes, with no mana, and barely any health to recover for the bear to come again and do the combo again. So, if you are not a 2pc/3pc int mage, you are so out of luck, unless you're pro like Cloudwater then I wouldn't consider being int. NOW however, if you are int, there is also one possible thing you could do, if they miss their beckon, or you kite their beckon, freeze them, and if they stomp, do it again, also your combo, and they should be done for. Or take some pro tips from my dood Ghost.

As an str mage:

To be honest, you should be fine, heal their hell scream, kite and freeze, combo, you should be good, but if you do get beckoned, you should fire first then Ice storm to keep them where they are at and then recover on what is going on. Str mage is probably the easiest spec you can play, but then again, I know some good bears that could go against my tactics lol. Also, be weary of your hit on them, if you hit an 161 then a 96 and below, you are debuffed my friend, Crushing blow is a quick skill so you might miss it happen, but be weary of your damage on them, and the damage you are taking from those beasts.

As an dex mage:

No offense, but you shouldn't play this, then again this is my opinion, but if you do not time your shield right you are screwed lol. Due to the fact that, when they beckon an auto happens will you get in range, and even if you happen to shield, they can spam slashes, and then their beckon stomp should be ready, so yeah gf.

If someone could go off of what I was thinking, much appreciated if someone can think on, or help with my idea. Hope it helps Will.
