So, I was doing pvp with some people and I saw that roots can do 300+ damage now if I use my armor reductions and have it crit. So I killed someone with my thorn wall and I got not indication of a kill, the score did not go up.
Same with the other root.

There used to be a bug where if the root damage killed the target, you didn't get kill credit but the kill still counted in the team count. I thought they fixed that though. Maybe it's reappeared...

well it does happen anywhere, but then it helps me kill mobs faster followed by "cruel blast" combo

the devs KNOW about this
they even MADE root do damage in an update awhile ago along with break armour

Yes, since it does more damage I'm not getting kills more.

thats why u use root FIRST so it alone doesnt kill them

It does this because your root has a minus hp drain, by the time your combo is done they are nearly dead, so the drain kills them and the system does not recognize this as your kill. That is my theory which I believe to be true since the minus health drain is working along with your combo and the thorn wall minus health drain will finish them off by the time your combo is done
