View Full Version : Pocket Legends Realism
Hey everyone!
Have you ever wondered of seeing your favorite bunch of pixels appear right in front of you? How real life interpretations of some in-game items would play out?
Well, a few months back I had a what-if idea of PL content being interpreted to real life content ;
to be exact, what the PL classes would look like, if they came to life.
Since then, I've been inspired to make a whole class set.
This isn't your typical "Photo Realism" style.
I do not draw out the images, (I draw some of the effects here and there) , but I simply manipulate a bunch of item images and merge them to create a "Cos-Play" style of Art.
Happy to say, I've now successfully completed the whole set of five.
I understand, they arent perfect.
I know there are heavy flaws in each but I just want the overall result to satisfy the great community of Pocket Legends that dwells here on the forums.
This artwork is all for the nature of sheer entertainment and enjoyment. :)
I'm also entering this thread into the Community Spotlight thread.
Not for personal satisfaction, but because I want to leave a piece of me, here with the community before my final leave (Whenever that is :p)
While it may not be something you guys can hold/keep, this is a gift. A gift from me to STS and specifically its PL community, to cherish and hopefully appreciate for what it really is.
Art of what we all love here. Pocket Legends.
All the sets chosen, are simply picked out from difficulty, from pre-existing images. I wish I could of picked any items I'd wanted, (well, I did have small options here & there), but I simply couldn't. Trust me, it's not as easy as it looks! :D
Well final words, I hope these are well enjoyed as much as I had fun making them for you all.

I made each in about 90 minutes, no breaks.
And yes, I did the mage this morning from scratch.

Lol a lot of people say that, but quite frankly today's smart phones are as powerful as computers, tools wise.
A few years back I wouldn't had been able to do it, but now smartphones/tablets are just as dependable. Of course, creativity is 50% of it. Just practice and you can do it too.

Hey everyone, I completed the Warrior and have added it to the set.
So far it was the most challenging.
I just know the last two are going to kill me. :p
Anyway, for the Ursan, I did not use a particular in game screenshot.
Its basically a Warrior in a red armor, with a pair of Fire Axes (platinum store) and Well, a Zombie head. Particularly, the head off "Funkes Meat-Masher" :)

Lol no, I just like being creative. Im not majoring on graphic design nor anything related. But im sure its a profitable field.
Maybe someday.
In fact, the Culinary Arts are my true passion. My food tastes better than what my art looks like ;) And my dream is to open up my own restaurant sooner than later.

Hey everyone, I completed the Paladin today. Not only was it the hardest, but it came out the worst :p Im really sorry if he looks disfigured. I tried.
To complete this thread 100%, I just need an in game screenie of an eagle with a simple begginer brown shirt + an orcish bow! Its part of the small comparison images im attaching.
If anyone can help me out , I'd greatly appreciate it :)

Still surprisingly cool looking! Strange actually cause they're animals heads on a standing human sort of body but it's what pocket legends is! And that is what they would be in real life and they look cool hah

Yes, I finished it a lot sooner than expected. Im a big procrastinator so I had to make sure I completed it before I got lazy or lost the spark.
I averaged about 10 hours on everything. Maybe I'll do a second set.
In 2016 :p lol

About the rhino, I'm not saying it's bad or anything, and I'm not going to make suggestions, because if I criticized it, it's stupid because I can't do it like you.
Just wondering, where is the rhino head on the pic? I can't exactly make out the horn, or facial features.
Of course, I couldn't it better than you though.
I might be imagining :/

Is the rhinos chin/neck stuck to his armor? O.o
But still, great job!

Nope, But you point out a good idea. Im going to add a bit of a neck close to its back of the head so it won't look as odd.
The problem is, real rhinos dont have a neck going down like humans. It simply blends with its head and body, much like pigs and whales.
So as you can see, that's why its neckless. They aren't really made with necks like in PL :p

lol I might make some sooner than later, but they definitely took a breath out of me, stress wise. It would of been easier to draw them, but It wouldn't have that realistic look.

Its not literally neckless, Technically there IS a neck, just covered by the big shadow the head creates.

I think STS used that bear as a reference. Its a very common image online. Just search grizzly growling.

Rare in other languages can mean Odd/awkward.
Im not sure if in English it has that meaning aswell.

Well I can say then, the bear skill looks like the real bear then xD
& yes awkward sorry, there are different ways you can use it, I used rare as in yes looks funny and awkward. But rare can be used as something not very common :)

I will be brainstorming of new ideas to create more eye catching work.
I been busy with work lately but I still have a bit more to give in the near future.
