So I've been playing from mid-2013 (in the middle if my end if year exams lol) and I've only witnesses the following weapon classes:
Rogues: daggers and bows
Mages: staffs and guns
Warriors: sword and hammer/axe
What this thread is about is, why limit the variety to two. Why not come up with something wacky (but not OP) for example rogues could have a dual crossbow, it would be powerful as the advantage however crossbows are heavy and slow to reload so you have the disadvantages too for a powerful weapon. And I know some people keep referring to mages as the support class (however that is false) so you can have a magic orb for mages maybe it can attack in front and behind at the same time maybe it has a passive healing effect when the player is in the rest stance. Give warriors a ranged weapons like a slingshot so they can throw objects from a range.
The point in trying to make is that there should be more than just two options. So not every character have the same build another of the same class.
Spice up the game a bit :)
