View Full Version : Where is the respect in PvP?

I cant recall how many times ive seen players belittling other players in PvP. What's wrong with having good sportsmanship? You win? cool. You lose? well thats ok. I just went into a certain level of PvP recently, all of a sudden, i get ganged by 3 players at once, i die (obviously), and now all these slurs bounce around about how i "should delete my character AND my gear" and that i "am a waste of life". seriously? Where's the sportsmanship? Where's the respect? I'd much rather lose to a respectful, mature player than a juvenile poor sport. My feelings are never hurt on the internet, but i do know that some people can actually take these insults pretty seriously. I feel so ashamed of some of these people.

typical man, u could maybe stop all these fuss by muting them tho, find some solid guild, join ur guild mates game instead of a a random games, bcus it is more likely you'll bump into one of these disgrace people!, but if you do just try n remember alll those bad names that has given you bad comments, if u see them, just leave the room, there's no shame in that at all, man this game would be dam boring without bit of drama trust me

Nothing new under the sun here.

Yes, PvP could either give you stress or enjoyment depending on who you are PvP-ing with, I too try to limit my chat to something of "shrugged-it off" response or no reply at all. While its sad and true that the mechanics and gameplay of PvP brings out the demons out of everyone, I always advice my guildmates and friends to "no pressure in pvp" and just try to enjoy it all as much we can even with some attitude you find on the Arena.

At endgame there are a lot of people who are good sports, provided you play fair (no ganging or other such things) and don't have a bad attitude yourself.

That said, its one on one and some people can't handle losing (even in fair fights well)

One time I fought a Rogue 1 vs 1 who PVPs quite often. (not in LB or anything so don't bother guessing), after we ended I won most of the fights and PMd him and say "gg, you're good" his reply "thanks too bad you're not"

Completely unnecessary and rude, it ended up with me borrowing an arcane maul and teaching some manners since he seemed pretty adamant in showing me how horrible I was.

......it ended up with me borrowing an arcane maul and teaching some manners......

This made me actually laugh out loud. hehe

Things have gotten ugly in pvp this season, moreso than any time in the past. Personally I think it is because many people entered this season already having the best gear - the mythic armor upgrade time was nothing - so they never needed to take time away from pvp and farm to earn their new gear.

This made the season 4 and 5 pvp seasons run into each other without a real break. What happens when you lock the same people in a small room for too long? They end up getting dramatic, childish, and magnifying minor problems into mountainous ones. It's human nature. I, for one, am hoping the new gear release system for season 6 alleviates most of this and returns the pvp community (in general) to sanity.

That's true, lots of drama this season.

Disrespect in pvp shall always exist as long as the Chatbox exists

Ha, that's funny.

By the way, want to level your rogue with a friend and I?

My personal experience

3 days ago i was harassed and insulted for beating 1v1 the opposite team.

Last week or so i was kicked from a guild cause i defeated it's GM and all the members (they even came to the extent of ganging me for beating them).
Same thing two weeks ago.

I don't know how many have trolled, harassed and insulted me out of the blue.
If i am in the mood for some chit chat i reply making gest of them or i simply get over it.

They have called me:
Jugg user
Cheat user
Tarlok gem user
Noob
Ganger
Mythic pet user
Spy
Many weird and even worse names i prefer not to mention cause they might hurt someone's eyes.

My policy is "Never listen to the sore loser or winner"

And it has never failed to grant me fun in ctf and tdm.

*See what it can do for you.*

Trash talking is becoming an issue. I killed someone while flagging and I got hate pms that were seriously...wrong. The dude told me I was the result of reproduction between a frog and a gorilla, and that I should delete my char and 'get mythics noob jajajaja' (I'm 3/5 mythic). Ive also been called a 45 year old obese dude without a male reproductive organ, or half of one (the insulter has said both). My suggestion? Ban people who talk like this for 24h minimum.

lol i got ganged by 3-4 rogues at one time.. good thing.. they werent the most top geared and best rogues in game. i killed them one by one
then came down to 3v1 , 2 will come, ill kill one, and then another one come, i kill then kill :)
trust me it drives me to the roof when ppl dont have respect specially when u know youre doing them a favor and ur just sitting out there and they attack u..
i sometimes cant wrap it around my head how disrespectful and ruthless some people are.. tho i gotta admit when i get furious i gang.. but only the ones who ganged me
bad karma.

I knew there were insults flying around but i didnt think it was that bad. I guess the people in my old level are more respectful than the people in that one.. idk. But where's the LOVE

Lol hearing you say that people are starting to sat uninstall noob reminds me of dota 2. Kids will be kids all you can do is mute, screenshot, and report. Did make me lol though cause i been hearing that alot in dota 2 but have to admit muting people there is alot easier
