performance questions

Im running the game on my iphone 3g and for the most part it plays pretty smooth. However in dungeons when im with multiple party members the frame rate drops considerably and its hard to tell whats going on. Is there anyway i can increase performance? Maybe an iphone update would help? Also does anyone know if the game runs better on iphone 4?

You can switch it to low quality and turn off sound and music. Framerates are significantly better on the 3gs or iphone 4, or corresponding generations of ipod touches.
