Alternate experience points would be a way to customize your character. After level 30 you can start putting points into these AEP categorizes, based on race and class. Each Alternate experience point you'll earn. You can spend the points to learn special abilities and powers that enhance your character.
Alternate abilities can play a very significant role in the play style of your character. Motivating players to continue activities that earn Alternate Experience Points. If you spend a lot of your time farming, you'll typically earn at more AEP. Rounding out your character creating a richer experience.
