View Full Version : Favorite Pokemon Build

To those of you who play any of the Pokemon RPGs (Diamond, Heart Gold, White, etc.), what's your favorite Pokemon build? Mine has to be my favorite stalling/debuff Pokemon:

Crobat (EV trained Speed)

Move set:
Toxic - Poisons the target, the dmg increases turn after turn.

Confuse Ray - Confuses the target, also stacks with Toxic for some annoying dmg.

Substitute - If you use this, it acts like a barrier in exchange for some health.

Rest - Puts the user to sleep, but restores the user back to full health (I use this to recover the lost health from Substitute)

I love this build, because first of all you're super fast so you can land your debuffs fast. Then, just keep substituting to block your opponent's moves. Use rest to regain health, and they are back to square 1

So yeah, if you play Pokemon, what's your favorite build? Post builds down below :)

Ferrothorn @rocky helmet
EV's: Sp.Def, Def.
IV's: 31/31/31/31/31/0
Spikes
Stealth Rock
Power whip
Gyro ball

My hazards pokemon basically. Power whip for grass STAB and gyroball for STAB and to compliment it's extremely low speed, maximizing the attacks power.

I never knew you could stack Stealth Rock with Spikes.. learned something new today lol

Lol yea. You could stack I think 3 layers of spikes. It's risky because your opponent could have a Rapid spinner on their team

Stealth Rock = 1 layer, damage done depends on weakness and resistance
Spike = 3 layers max, damage done depends on how many layers
Toxic Spikes = 3 layers max, poison depends on how many layers

Anyway, mine is:
Azumarill
EV: 248/252/8/0/0/0
IV: 31/31/31/0/31/31
Item: Sitrus Berry (Aka Choice Band Fake)

Belly Drum
Aqua Jet
Superpower
Waterfall

Deadly, deadly, deadly. Eats Talonflame for lunch, and just about everything else.

The belly drum reminded me of the annoying Snorlax with rest, sleep talk, and hyper beam.

I don't have X and Y, I have black (not 2.)
Scizor: Is a very strong sweeper, able to one hit opponents.
Forgot which EVs .-. And nature as well >_<
Ability: I think Technician? I haven't really took the time to review this stuff.
Item: Life Orb
Move set:
Swords Dance: Increase his insane attack even more.
X-Scissor: STAB, and is deadly with swords dance combined. Can one-hit Metagross with it (not sure against defense EV Metagross)
Bullet Punch/Iron head: Both STAB, Bullet Punch is weaker, but is fast and allows Scizor to finish off opponents, due to his lack of speed. Iron head is powerful, but slow.
(I forget which attack for this slot :/ so these are a guess, correct me if I'm wrong)
Night Slash/Earthquake/Protect: I'm pretty sure it's Night slash, idk though. It's for coverage, good dmg with Swords Dance, another move when Bullet punch and X-Scissor won't work, and can also crit. Also against those Cresselia and Metagross. Earthquake (not even sure if he can learn it .-.) Covers his ultimate fire weakness, but IMO, the fire coverage should be left to your other pokemon, since Scizor is slow and fire types will usually be faster and knock him out, like Arcanine. Protect is self explanatory, can help whenever you're in a sticky situation, but I don't use it.

Hydreigon: The best Special attack dragon ever, Dragon gem Draco Meteor can tear holes in your opponent when used correctly.
I forgot EVs and nature again...:/ I remember high special attack, some speed and defense.
Ability: Levitate
Item: Dragon Gem
Move set:
Draco Meteor: STAB, boosted by Dragon gem, very powerful, also with Hydreigons high special attack. Tears holes in opponent when used correctly. I use as the last move, as it lowers his Special Attack after use.
Fire Blast: It covers his bug and ice type weaknesses, specifically the dangerous Scizor, and with his speed EVs, he should be able to use it before Scizors X-Scissor unless it's Trick Room situation.
Dark Pulse: STAB, it's strong, should hit Cresselias hard, and sometimes Metagross.
Protect: Self explanatory
All for one, and one for all.

Charmander was always my favorite.

The Scariest one is Darkrai
His move set is a little too OP
-Dark Void Puts opponent to sleep
-Nightmare Is curse for the pokemon thats sleeping
-Dream eater its like mega drain for pokemon thats sleeping
-Curse It is nightmare all over again

+ Darkrais inherent nightmare ability

so put the pokemon to sleep using dark void
then use Nightmare
Then use curse
Then use Dream eater
+ his own nightmare ability you can beat any pokemon easy

Venusaur
Arcanine (yeah, I wasn't a charizard fanboy)
Jolteon
Wartortle (traded from pokemon blue, wartortle > blastoise)
Hitmonlee
Gengar

Oh, and Arcanine can learn wild charge (dat water weakness tho) and Xtremespeed!

In competitive play, RK9 will be dead by any Greninja, or any fast water in general. Ninetales however, has drought to boost it's sp atk, stab fire blast, and 1 charge solar beam and has better speed than most.

2nd, thats a pretty high risk using two skills that need the opponent to be asleep, plus one skill that does no dmg. What if u didn't hit hypnosis?

I always have back up chars for each of their weaknesses :/
Scizor ftw.

Heres a two Pokemon bes played together in double battle:

Metagross: Sweeper, pretty powerful, is good with Cresselia I put down way below.
I forget the EVs and nature again..don't judge me.
Ability: Clear Body
Item: Lum berry (you'll figure out why)

Moveset:
Meteor Mash: STAB, its a very powerful move, even as a steel type.
Earthquake: Ground type, covers fire type weakness, and also for other Metagross you find, also very powerful, and could for attacking all Pokemon in battle.
Zen Headbutt (not sure if it was ZH..YOLO): STAB, good dmg. Not sure if this is the move on my Metagross, as these are from memory.
Protect: Self explanatory, also helps against those Dragon Gem Draco Meteor Hydreigon, so their special attack goes down, and they lose the gem :P

Cresselia: Yes, trick room Cresselia, and Swagger..you'll see. Goes good with Metagross
FORGET EVS AND NATURE. :(
Ability: Levitate (I think :/)
Item: I totally forgot :/

Moveset:
Trick Room: Trick room, makes fast go slow, slow go fast, allowing Metagross to quickly hit.
Swagger: Yep. Swagger. This is how it goes.
Cresselia uses Swagger on METAGROSS, which boosts his attack up. Problem, he's confused now. Not a problem, Metagross is holding lum berry. A free attack boost o: (almost lol)
Ice Beam: Against the pesky Hydreigon, Gliscir, and Garchomp, all very common in WiFi battling.
Psyshock: STAB, attack move. You could replace it with Psychic if you want.

Warning, these two together are extremely vulnerable to Scizor, so having backups who can defeat him are highly recommended.

Scizor will be dominated by any fast fire sweeper, so all the opponent needs is a fire type and potentially a water type to sweep your team.

I have my other unspoken Pokemon :P
I don't use Arcanine much in WiFi battles. He just looks kewler than Ninetales
Looks are everything you know ;) Jk
And well, most teams have a Pokemon that has a fire type move (Garchomp, Hydreigon) to take care of dem scizor.
