Definately not going around writting "nice" 5 times in people's thread or bumping yours 4 times in 5 minutes.
Be yourself, stay active, partecipate in forum life and reputation will come if it has to.

I didn't see the quote from Skeuedris, but I ignored him because he sent me random PMs asking me to buy his stuff. In my mind, he took up valuable PM inbox space. Also, I'm not going to bother with the 3 minute wait time in between PMs just to tell him "No, I do not want to buy your random stuff. Please, do not send me some more random adverts.".
