I am new to the game (currently lvl 19) and I've been reading these forums about how more experienced players don't like new players who don't know how to play. But, then all I can really find about strategy for enchantress characters is to heal everyone and spam buff/debuff. Is that really all that an enchantress in the party should be doing? If so, does that still apply for pallys? If the idea is for a tank and bird to deal the damage while the pally spams buff/debuff/heal, then why do so many not protect the enchantress so that they can do that without getting blasted by the MOBs?

I guess my question comes down to: (a) what is the ideal role/strategy for playing enchantress (pally, but interested in all builds) and (b) how does that fit in with the overall party strategy?

Also, do the skills Weakness and Nightmare keep increasing the effect every time they're cast in a particular battle? In other words, is there a point to keep casting them or is the effect only helpful the first time it's cast on a particular enemy?

I'm pretty sure that the effects wear off so you want to refresh them, I don't think the debuffs stack with themselves

Weakness and Nightmare do not stack.
Weakness and Nightmare do wear off so you must keep recasting them to enjoy the effects.

My build is 125 int 128 str. So in other words the role I play is to take out the mobs and tank the bosses. Healing/reviving/debuffing/buffing I wouldn't even count as a role. At level 50 you will have plenty enough m/s to cast them without needing to ever pop a mana potion. Basicly my spell chart is always cooling down other than revive and mana sheild *I only use them on the called for occasions*

Your gonna find out real fast that mages get crapped on a lot still even though they dominate the game now. So I suggest taking the game into your hands. My mage right now is always the most crucial player in a game because
1.) I take 100% damage
2.) I always lead the charge
3.) I blast spells more than any other player in the party thus inflicting the most damage *i'm a epic kill stealer :D*
4.) I always keep the party going on a strait path and what to ignore/not ignore.
5.) I always make the plans when we get to the boss (Also teaching other players how to survive so they don't screw the party over)
6.) I always tank the bosses......

So even though these are not all the roles of the mage I just got so sick of people screwing up the game that I made sure a game would never go bad no matter how bad the players were.

Enchantress do way better damage than Warriors. I think birds are the only ones designated to dps.

With that said. Pharcyde is correct. Enchatress' are a jack of all trades character. The kind do play all the roles of healer, tank, and dps...

@Phar

2 weaknesses don't stack, and 2 Nightmares dont stack right? Not that weakness and nightmare overlap or cancel each other out? Just making sure what your trying to mean, cause I've always believed nightmare and weakness work together but just not stacking.

I think you took what i posted differently. What I mean by stacking is when recast weakness on the boss it doesnt stack. So if you weaken the boss by 50% armor recasting wont reduce another 50%. But weakness and nightmare can be used together. Theres actually a combo for the buffs/debuffs that increases your buffs even more and decreases bosses debuffs even more.

Yeah thats what I wanted to clear up. :) Just understood it in both ways when I read it. Lol

Buffs combo? I'm aware of the debuffs combo, but there's a buff one?

debuff one also increases the effectiveness of your 20 second buffs by 15% if you cast after the combo.

Cool! Didn't even know that, thanks :)
