LoL for the first time ever i just read the forum rules

And i thought "OMG i can't believe this a infraction too!"
Now i understand how many infractions many of us have been commiting mostly unknowingly.

I advice everyone to take a look at it. :)

I thought they ask you to read the ToS when you create your account? Or, did you just hit "I agree"?

Anyways, glad you understood some of the infractions! I got a new one to add to my collection and will <3 it forever!

Oh, also, after a certain number of infractions - they can ban you without notice, so watch out!

Well, I think most infraction can be avoided through good judgement alone.

Yup, I even read my cellphone contract. I do not sign anything unknowingly.

True, but you know what they say... "common sense isn't so common".

Terms of service and Manuals are meant not to be read.
The format, the longness, the boringness everything about a Tos or a manual seems to discourage you from reading them.

Edit : nobody reads them Except Zeus.

Knowledge is power, especially in any legally binding contracts. So, I like to know exactly what I am agreeing to before I hand over my money or decide to use their services. Trust me, it's worth the 10 minute read up as it can save you a headache and potentially wasted time later on.

I should make a quote..."Read the ToS, spending 10 minutes or more can save you $1 or more in platinum spent!"

I don't think i will waist my ten minutes reading a game Tos or manual if i could use that time to:
- Take my dog out for a walk.
- finish a match on fifa14.
- Call my gf.
- Look at the wall.
LOL

BUT if it is a contract that implicates money or my welfare then for sure i will read it.

For the sake of people like me and ctf who just can't stand reading a tos or a manual i think more advertisement need to be made about the Tos and the forum rules so more players can lay a eye on them even though they take a lazy and distracted glance...

If you post through the mobile format browser, it is not noticeable, but the Forum Rules on desktop or non-mobile format is cleared listed just below the SpaceTime Games logo in bold red. Also, in game, I think if you load up forums through the advertisement - it prompts you to the Terms of Service first.

Cheers!

Hehe, thanks!

Also, that's your philosophy. I'm not saying it's wrong, but I am saying that even when the rules are well advertised, people will still come and claim that they didn't know what actions were and what actions were not allowed. Anything that states "rules", people shy away from unless they can get personal gain from reading them, like for example - a forums contest.

How does it feel to get an infraction? Surprisingly, I never got one.

I've gotten a whole collection of them, lol.

My initial reaction to my first:

1. Wow, I've been a bad boy! Believe it or not, I may have had a potty mouth to an unnamed employee of STG. Honestly, I was lucky to have gotten a mere infraction.
2. Wow, that wasn't even right! *reads reason* No, I'm just angry that somebody gave me an infraction.
3. Same reaction as #2.
4. I matured about it and accepeted the punishment as well as watched my posts for a long time.
5. Same as #4

I am the type that have a hard time even reading the rules of any contest posted on the forum.

I just scroll and read the parts in bold and red.

If the contest has no fouls i could tell the OP or i don't like the prize i won't even read the parts in red and bold. XD

I swear they try to discourage you from reading it so they have some reason to charge you a hidden fee. It's a huge wall of text that's more than 25 pages long.

If you don't...:
If you want to become a developer, critical reading and logic is a very important skill asset to have. Practice it, even if you think it's tedious. :)

I got the link right, I just should've said Forum Rules.

Also, what many people do not know is if you piss the developers off enough, forums trolling can lead to in game suspension.

It was a lighthearted joke, I think he understood. Technically, you're not allowed to share developer PMs with anyone. :)

Before you post just think about this: "is it even worth for posting , do I break any rules maybe?"

I can't count how often I deleted my post within the first seconds - probably saved me my forum life, never got an infraction - not hoping to get one as well.

But as Delphina said, better switch to another topic before this thread gets out of control.

Like Zeus, I read any contract or ToS. That way I know what I can and can't do, what is expected of me and what I can expect from other parties. It's also a great to cover your behind, if the need arises. Before I even posted here I made sure to read the rules. I'll even read the ToS for any apps I download. It's a habit now, I suppose.

I have read them, more than once. I don't know about Zeus but us Ambassadors were required to read them for our program.

@ Zeus

I would like you to chime in and answer a question for me. Did GoA have to read the ToS for your program? This is just for curiosity.

Nope, because it was not an application process or anything. Instead, you were chosen for community contributions as a thank you. So, pretty much everyone who's gotten it knew the forums ToS. Also, before they rewarded you it - they would check your in game account of everything to insure that you were not breaking any ToS.

Fun Fact: None of the GoAs have every received a perm ban! However, one of them has received a forum permanent ban! So, to those that think we are untouchable - far from it. They will not hestitate to ban if needed. It's just that the members in the program were not as likely to do anything against the ToS.

Knowledge is power...

How do you control the masses? You keep them ignorant. I refuse to be ignorant. Reading is not that difficult (maybe someday in the future, people can just learn from book diffusion or sticking a USB in their head).

Always better to know it and not need it, than to need it and not know it.

I read magazines
I read newspapers
I read results of football matches
I read my books
I read mangas

For example i read the full saga of Game of thrones in 2+ months so it's obvious i like reading,

But i can't just stand a long annoying, boring, bad formatted ToS of anything..even when i download pograms or install, games i just click "i accept" "i agree":
1. Cause i want to speed up things and waist less time possible.
2. Because all those rules copyright are boring and repetative.

But the forum rules is different it is specific and concrate and goes right to the point and most importantly it is short
