You can buy them but they're vanity items. You can't trade them. There are other items you can't trade, like the Redbone stuff and the Candy bags.

Try running around in the Droid costume. Everyone is either waving to you or spamming you with tells demanding antennas or yelling out to everyone that you are the fake Droid since you can not pass antennas out.

I told someone I got the Santa Hat from the vendor hidden in the winter dungeon and he told me he looked everywhere and could not find it. Told him his level was still too low that's why! :D
