I don't understand what you are talking about.
There are many ways to take screenshots without rooting or jailbreaking a device. One of the easiest (or most stupid) ways is to take a photo of the screen of your tablet by using a digital camera.

Rooting is legal in usa, not sure bout other places. Basically the agreement was that you bought the phone therefore youre allowed to do what you want with it. As for screenshot, you can try power volume down if not google it

Actually, rooting your phone will void any warranty and such.
..that is, until you reset the phone or unroot it. :)

I do know that OLD OLD OLD tablets and android operating systems didn't have an ability built in to take a screenshot. You had to either root it or find an app.

Anyway, if someone is using such an archaic device, they should just open AL on their computer.

Voiding a warranty is very different from doing something illegal

Voiding a warranty is very different from doing something illegalIndeed, indeed. I wasn't commenting about the legality of it. It was more about "do whatever you want with it after purchase."
Phone manufacturers may refuse to fix your phone if you've rooted it. Sort of like how if you install a different exhaust to a new motorcycle--they may say, "oh, it wasn't a defect that caused the transmission to work properly-- it's this non-standard exhaust you put into the bike that caused a chain of issues." Doing some things can insta-void a warranty. Fortunately, we can always simply unroot our phones.

Was meant to just be a tip to anyone who has or is thinking about rooting their phone(s). If you do and need to have something fixed, you should unroot it prior to handing it over.

Rooting - overriding factory settings and gaining super user privilege on the phone and/or tablet, which allow you to change things you normally couldn't, such as processing speed for example. And even tho rooting is legal/illegal in your country, you don't need it to take a screenshot. Androids take a screenshot with holding POWER and VOLUME DOWN at the same time for a few seconds, so root has nothing to do with it.

Hello there kind Martian! We humans come in peace.

Seriously though, are you that smart? Or are you really just trying to get replies? I want to see you "hack" this game. The day you are able to get unlimited money on AL, is the same day I'll finish eating Jupiter. Which according to my calculations is NEVER.

Here's a friendly gift from me: (You probably know him)

Lots of tabs and phones now support screenshots with the native os. There is also chrome.

'If you got a device with android 4.0 and above, there is a built in function in the operating system for that. Just press the volume down and power buttons at the same time, hold them for a second, and your phone will take a screenshot. It'll show up in your gallery app for you to share with whomever you wish.

Unfortunately, android 2.3 and below doesn't have screenshotting built-in. However, some devices (like many samsung phones) do have these features, but it varies from phone to phone. for example, on many samsung phones, you can press the home and power buttons at the same time to take a screenshot. Google around to see if your own phone has a built-in shortcut.'

And oh, if you aren't rooted but know how to use ADB, you can get a screenshot from the command line, for example.

Rooting is perfectly legal in the United States, unless you're in a different country, then i have no idea what your legislation is. The contest is not illegal. If you have more than 1 device, then use one device to take an actual picture of the other device's screen. That'll work.

Edit: Didnt read the comments before posting this.

Actually... rooting tablets in the US IS illegal as I've found. For phones, it is not necessarily.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/27/jailbreaking-tablets-illegal_n_2024754.html

This is just one article. I've found numerous articles stating such. Most are from 2012/2013 so I'm not sure if it has changed. Most of the issue boils down to the loose definitions of "tablet" devices. Because it was not clearly defined, they could not approve the same exception as they did for smartphones.

Old old tablet? Jeez, kids.

I have the original ipad, the one before there was such a thing as Android.

Screenshot is easy and taken just like any other ipad, and has always been that way.

I can't speak for android, although as was posted above there appears to be a way to do a screenshot. But on iPad/iPhone you just press the home and lock buttons and the same time and it takes a screen shot and adds it to your camera roll. Very easy and no jailbreak/rooting required. Then you just connect the iPad/iPhone to your computer using your USB charging cable, and when you get a popup click "view files", go into the picture folder, find the picture, and save it to your PC. Then you upload it using your PC. Very easy!

For android-powered devices, there are a few others. Ive seen some devices where you need to hold the home button down and tap an option to take a screenshot. It really depends on the device. Your best bet is to google your device and how to take a screenshot.
