STS went mainstream & decided to obliterate mobile delivery, & headed towards the big console releases.
Yes, It will probably never happen, but it's a neat idea to ponder about.

Would they stick to MMORPGs? Or do you believe they would travel through a different genre?

(excuse the horrible Photoshop, I threw it together in 15 minutes)

My thoughts in console release...

I think this would be a huge step for a company like STG, but it could definitely happen.

This idea has already been posted a few times, and I think an MMO like Pocket Legends could make it to all the major consoles, PS3, xbox one, Wii etc...

I will take that truce now, Xbox one for the effing win I love you

And yes I wouldn't mind pl on a console, but no they wouldn't do it cause they aren't big enough to do so, or just would really work out very well neither..

Big leap, definitely a possibility in the long future though.

STG is not ready for that.

We keep hearing how they are too busy to address all their games except AL. And because the perception that it's a "free game" people put up with it. But if a company is charging $65 for a game and selling against the big boys, there would be a lot of flak for their lack of responsiveness on all their games except one.

Wait. Are there any mmorpg console games? Are games like diablo mmorpg's?

I agree, the only hope would be in the chance that STS would hit it big upon release and make a lot of money from sales so that they actually could afford to upkeep all of their games. That would be a fat chance.

sadly, it's not about affordability in respect of PL. There has never been a statement from STG that updating PL actually loses them any money at all. I think they make a lot of money with every new PL cap and update. The only issue is whether they can make even MORE money by updating AL instead. It's about level of profits. I do not know if the same is true for DL or SL, with smaller customer bases.

On that basis, even if STG hit it big with releasing PL for consoles, would they still spend all of that profit on updating AL instead?

Right now, the best thing STS has going for its games is the mobility. You can play these games anywhere with no special equipment. The entire experience is tuned to make this possible.

If they started selling the same product on a console, they'd have an uphill battle. Expectations for graphics, performance, complex gameplay and continual new challenges would all be raised. In short, we the customers would stop cutting them the slack we do now because we'd expect a "console experience". And we'd lose the ability to just pull out our phones anywhere and start playing, which is the most important feature of PL (at least to me).

Hmm, that's certainly an interesting perspective. I do believe Samhayne has stated in the past that if they had stuck with PL alone, they probably would have gone under by now. (I hate to misquote, but I believe it was something along those lines.) To me, that sounds like they were somewhat forced to follow the path they have taken. Now, that doesn't discredit your statement necessarily. I do think a big part of this is just that AL gives back the most from what is put into it and that's why it's STG's current main focus.

To answer your question, I think it would depend on how big they hit it. In the end, I think the likely result would be STG pushing to release AL on console regardless of how big a success PL was.

Good luck with that, sts is a tiny company and that is why they're only capable of keeping one game in motion, if they make more it makes it harder, as they're tiny, you look at Diablo, blizzard is a pretty big company now, they are easily capable of doing this, but just because they do doesn't mean sts can.. Unless! They expand there company! Now there's a possibility !
